Ryszard Smolarek
Ryszard Smolarek (born May 10, 1952 in Koło) is a Polish manager, politician, and Member of Parliament in the Polish Republic. He was a Member of Parliament from 1989 to 2001. Biography Son of Mary and Joseph Smolarek. He finished Agricultural Technical School in Kościelec and in 1976 he graduated from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. Career In 1989 he was elected a Member of Parliament from the Polish United Workers' Party (PZPR). In the Cabinets of Waldemar Pawlak, Józef Oleksy and Włodzimierz Cimoszewicz (1993–1997) he served as a Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture. He was responsible for the law establishing The Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture. In the years 1991-2001 he was a Member of Parliament from the Polish People's Party (PSL) from Siedlce province. He has worked in the Committee of Agriculture and Food Economy. The Warsaw University of Life Sciences ( pl, Szkoła Główna Gospodarstwa Wiejskiego, lit=Main School of Rural Homestead, SGGW) is the largest agricultural university in Poland, established in 1816 in Warsaw. Polish United Workers' Party
The Polish United Workers' Party ( pl, Polska Zjednoczona Partia Robotnicza; ), commonly abbreviated to PZPR, was the communist party which ruled the Polish People's Republic as a one-party state from 1948 to 1989. The PZPR had led two other legally permitted subordinate minor parties together as the Front of National Unity and later Patriotic Movement for National Rebirth. Ideologically, it was based on the theories of Marxism-Leninism, with a strong emphasis on left-wing nationalism. The Polish People's Party ( pl, Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe, PSL) is an agrarian political party in Poland. It is currently led by Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. Its history traces back to 1895, when it held the name People's Party, although its name was changed to the present one in 1903.
