Nevsky District (russian: Не́вский райо́н) is a district of the federal city of St. Petersburg, Russia. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 466,013; up from 438,061 recorded in the 2002 Census. Geography The district is the only one in St. Petersburg to lie on both banks of the Neva River. The Neva (russian: Нева́, ) is a river in northwestern Russia flowing from Lake Ladoga through the western part of Leningrad Oblast (historical region of Ingria) to the Neva Bay of the Gulf of Finland. Line 3 of the Saint Petersburg Metro, also known as ''Nevsko-Vasileostrovskaya Line'' (russian: Не́вско-Василеостро́вская ли́ния) or ''Green Line'', is a rapid transit line in Saint Petersburg, Russia, which connects city centre with the western and southeastern districts.
