Ryan Nurse
Ryan Paul Omar Nurse (born 24 April 1983) is a Barbadian cricketer who has represented the Barbadian national side in West Indian domestic cricket. He plays as a right-arm fast bowler. Nurse was born in Saint Philip Parish, Barbados. Selected in the West Indies under-19s squad for the 2002 Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand, he finished as his team's leading wicket-taker (and fifth overall), taking 13 wickets in six matches (including 5/28 against Australia and 3/18 against Scotland). Busta Cup
The Regional Four Day Competition, formerly known as the Shell Shield, Red Stripe, Busta and Carib Beer Cup, is the West Indies's first-class cricket competition that's run by Cricket West Indies. In the 2013–2014 season the winner of the tournament was awarded the WICB President's Trophy while the winners of the knockout competition were awarded the George Headley/Everton Weekes trophy. In a few previous seasons the winners of the tournament were awarded the Headley/Weekes trophy. On from the 2016–17 season, the Competition was sponsored by Digicel and was known as the Digicel Four Day Championship. Stanford 20/20
The Stanford 20/20 was a short-lived cricket tournament in the Caribbean island of Antigua. It was held first in July and August 2006 in the West Indies at the Stanford Cricket Ground, St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda, and then again in the same place in 2008. It was a variety of the popular Twenty20 format, which had been first introduced in English cricket in 2003. The tournament was separate to the Stanford Super Series, which was held in late 2008. The tournament was privately devised and funded by wealthy American businessman Allen Stanford, who held Antiguan dual nationality. It has been alleged that Stanford's creation of the tournament was a method of laundering his income from the fraudulent business schemes for which he is now serving a lengthy penal sentence in the USA. 19 teams took part in the inaugural knock-out tournament and 20 teams took part in the second tournament (although 21 teams were originally scheduled to take part). 2003–04 Red Stripe Bowl
The 2003–04 Red Stripe Bowl was the 30th edition of what is now the Regional Super50, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). It ran from 1 to 19 October 2003, with matches played in Antigua and Barbuda and Jamaica. Ten teams contested the competition, divided into two groups of five. For a third consecutive season, Antigua and Barbuda entered as a separate team, with the remaining Leeward Islands players competing for a "Rest of Leeward Islands" team. A University of the West Indies team entered for the second and final time, while the West Indies under-19s competed for the first time. Canada were invited as the sole international guest team. The semi-finals and final of the competition were all held in Discovery Bay, Jamaica, with Guyana eventually defeating Barbados in the final to win their eighth domestic one-day title. Limited overs cricket, also known as white ball cricket, is a version of the sport of cricket in which a match is generally completed within one day. There are a number of formats, including List A cricket (8-hour games), Twenty20 cricket (3-hour games), and 100-ball cricket (2.5 hours). First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is of three or more days scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams.
