Ryan Coll
Ryan Coll (born February 21, 2001) is an American professional football tackle for the St. Louis Battlehawks of the United Football League (UFL). He played college football for the Richmond Spiders. Early life Coll was a defensive lineman and tight end at Battlefield High School, where he earned first-team all-state honors as a senior. He was recruited to Richmond as an offensive lineman. College career Coll majored in rhetoric and communications at the University of Richmond. As a freshman in 2019 at Richmond, Coll played in twelve games, primarily at tight end. His 2020 season ended in an injury after one game. He started in six games in 2021. In 2022 he started in all thirteen games, earning second-team FCS All-American and first-team All- CAA honors. He again started all thirteen games in 2023, and was named to the third-team FCS All-American team as well as another first-team All-CAA nomination. Historically, in the one-platoon system prevalent in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a tackle played on both offense and defense. In the modern system of specialized units, offensive tackle and defensive tackle are separate positions, and the stand-alone term "tackle" refers to the offensive tackle position only. The offensive tackle (OT, T), sometimes specified as left tackle (LT) or right tackle (RT), is a position on the offensive line that flanks the two guards.
