Ryan Callus
Ryan Callus (born 22 June 1983) is a Maltese politician currently serving as a Nationalist MP in the House of Representatives of Malta. He is currently serving as Spokesperson for Planning and Simplification of Administrative Processes. In March 2012, Callus was elected Deputy Mayor of the Siggiewi Local Council. He was subsequently elected a Member of Parliament in March 2013, after contesting for the first time the sixth district, including Siggiewi, Hal Luqa and Hal Qormi. He obtained 1595 votes in the first count and elected in the 11th count with 3916 votes. An engineer by profession, having graduated at the University of Malta in 2005, Hon. Callus completed a Private Pilot Licence at the Delta Connection Academy in Florida. Siġġiewi
Siġġiewi ( mt, Is-Siġġiewi, ), also called by its title Città Ferdinand, is a city and a local council in the Southern Region of Malta. It is the third largest council in Malta by surface area, after Rabat and Mellieħa respectively. It is situated on a plateau, a few kilometres away from Mdina, the ancient capital city of Malta, and away from Valletta, the contemporary capital. It is the home of 8367 inhabitants as of March 2014. Until several decades ago, most of the population was employed in the fields which surround the village. In 1993, the city adopted the motto ''Labore et Virtute'' (Work and Virtue). History In its demographic and topographical formation, Siġġiewi followed a pattern common to other villages in Malta. Hal Qormi, Malta
Qormi ( mt, Ħal Qormi ; pronounced in the Qormi dialect), also known by its title Città Pinto, is a city in the Southern Region of Malta, southwest of Valletta in the centre of the island. It has a population of 16,324 (as of March 2018), making it Malta's fifth-largest city. Its bordering towns are Marsa, Luqa, Żebbuġ, Siġġiewi, Ħamrun, Birkirkara, Attard, Santa Venera and Balzan. Qormi has two parishes, one dedicated to Saint George and one to Saint Sebastian. It contains two valleys: Wied ''il-Kbir'' (The Large Valley) and ''Wied is-Sewda'' (Black Valley). Elder inhabitants of Qormi speak a broad Qormi Dialect, which is now in decline. Etymology The name Qormi is most likely derived from the surname ''Curmi'', which is documented in Sicily as of 1095.
