Russell Pockett
Russell Pockett is a radio presenter who has spent the majority of his career working for stations in the south of England. Russell was heard on Radio Mercury from 1984 to 1997, later moving to Thames 107.8 as their weekday mid-morning presenter, also appearing on Star 106.6 in Slough. Pockett enjoyed a lengthy spell at Magic 105.4 as weekend breakfast presenter, later moving to a weekend evening slot, a role he retained for a short time whilst joining London rival Jazz FM in 2003 as weekday mid-morning host. He later moved to drivetime, where he remained on the rebranded 102.2 Smooth FM until March 2007, when a further rebrand to 102.2 Smooth Radio saw him replaced by ex-Virgin Radio presenter Martin Collins. Virgin Radio launched in the United Kingdom in 1993. In 2008, Virgin Radio UK was sold to TIML, a subsidiary of The Times of India group, and the name was changed to Absolute Radio; the Virgin Radio name was not included in the sale. Magic Radio is a British digital radio station owned and operated by Bauer. The station is available on 105.4 FM in London and across the UK on Digital Radio, on the Magic Radio app, television and online. It had previously been a part of a network of Magic stations broadcast on FM in London and on MW across northern England and began broadcasting across the UK via the Digital One multiplex in January 2015. On 5 January 2015, Magic Radio launched nationally on DAB and all other Magic stations were dissolved to form the Bauer City 2 network. Graham Dene
Graham Dene (born 7 April 1949) is a British radio personality. After a period as a disc jockey on Edgware General Hospital's radio, and at United Biscuits Network, he became famous in the London area as Capital Radio's breakfast presenter in the 1970s, having joined from Radio City in Liverpool. He took over the breakfast show from Kenny Everett in May 1975, and stayed there until Mike Smith took over the slot in July 1980. When Smith left to rejoin BBC Radio 1 in 1982, Dene returned for a second stint as breakfast host from 1982 to 1987. This time Chris Tarrant took over. In the 1980s, Dene hosted a radio show, ''Rock Over London'', that was produced and distributed to radio stations in the United States, particularly stations that programmed New Wave or new, eclectic music. Anthony Kenneth Blackburn (born 29 January 1943) is an English disc jockey, singer and TV presenter. He first achieved fame broadcasting on the pirate stations Radio Caroline and Radio London in the 1960s, before joining the BBC, on the BBC Light Programme. He was the first disc jockey to broadcast on BBC Radio 1 at its launch, on 30 September 1967, and has had several stints working for the corporation.
