Russell McDonald
Russell Stanley Leslie McDonald (12 May 1913 – 20 January 1980) was an Australian politician. Biography He was born in Kyabram to labourer Donald Alexander Leslie McDonald and Jessie Taylor. He ran a service station in Echuca before entering politics, and was also a local councillor (1947–58) and mayor (1956–58). Around 1938 he married Barbara Catherine Hall, with whom he had three children. In 1964 he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly The Victorian Legislative Assembly is the states and territories of Australia, state lower house of the bicameral Parliament of Victoria in Australia; the state upper house being the Victorian Legislative Council. Both houses sit at Parliament H ... as the Country Party member for Rodney. He held the seat until his retirement in 1973. McDonald died at Echuca in 1980. Kyabram, Victoria
Kyabram () is a town in north central Victoria, Australia. Kyabram is located in the centre of a rich irrigation district in the Goulburn River Valley, north of Melbourne. The name of the town is thought to derive from an Aboriginal word Kiambram meaning "thick forest". It is the second-largest town in the Shire of Campaspe, situated between the towns of Echuca and Shepparton and is close to the Murray River, Goulburn River, Campaspe River and Waranga Basin. As of the 2021 census the town had a population of 7,416 people and provides services to a district population of around 16,000. Surrounding smaller towns include Merrigum, Lancaster, Undera, Cooma, Wyuna, Kyvalley, Girgarre, Stanhope and Tongala. Echuca ( ) is a town on the banks of the Murray River and Campaspe River in Victoria (state), Victoria, Australia. The border town of Moama is adjacent on the northern side of the Murray River in New South Wales. Echuca is the administrative centre and largest settlement in the Shire of Campaspe. Electoral District Of Rodney
The Electoral district of Rodney was a Victorian Legislative Assembly electorate in Northern Victoria. The Rodney District covered an area of 7,808 square kilometres, including the towns of Echuca, Rochester, Nathalia, Cohuna, Heathcote, Gunbower, Kyabram, Rushworth and Stanhope. At inception in 1856, the district boundaries include the Murray River and Goulburn River in the north and east; and the Campaspe River in the west. By 1956 the district had expanded further westward to include Cohuna. In 2014, it was abolished and became part of the electoral district of Murray Plains. Edward James "Eddie" Hann (8 May 1946 – 9 September 1990) was an Australian politician. He was born in Rochester, Victoria, to Edward Albert Hann, a dairy farmer, and Kathleen Margaret Smith. He attended Lockington Consolidated School before becoming a dairy farmer in the Lockington area. He was deputy state president of Victorian Young Farmers from 1967 to 1968.
