Ruslan Polovinko
Ruslan Polovinko (; 21 October 1969 – 6 August 1992) was a Ukrainian–Azerbaijani helicopter pilot and lieutenant, who participated in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War within Azerbaijani military. For his actions in the war he was posthumously awarded the title of the National Hero of Azerbaijan. Biography Polovinko was born on 21 October 1969, in Zmiiv of the Kharkiv Oblast of Ukraine. In 1987, he enrolled at the Syzran Higher Military Aviation School in Syzran, Russia. After graduating from high school in 1991, he was sent to serve in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Nakhchivan. After the formation of Azerbaijani Air and Air Defence Force, Azerbaijani Air Forces, he continued his service in the Baku Helicopter Squadron. Zmiiv
Zmiiv or Zmiyiv () from 1976 to 1990, is a city in Chuhuiv Raion, Kharkiv, Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Zmiiv urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The population in 2001 was 17,063, falling to The town is located from Kharkiv. In 1976-1990, the city was called Gotwald () in honor of the Czechoslovak communist and politician Klement Gottwald. Until 2020, Zmiiv was the administrative centre of Zmiiv Raion, before it was merged into Chuhuiv Raion as part of that year's administrative reform. Qubadlı
Qubadli (, ) is a city in Azerbaijan and the administrative centre of the Qubadli District. It is situated along the Vorotan (Bargushad) river. History Qubadli was part of the Zangezur uezd of the Elizavetpol Governorate during the Russian Empire. According to 1886 census data, there were 70 homes and 326 Azerbaijanis (classified as "Tatars" in the census) of the Shiite branch of Islam in Qubadli. According to the 1912 publication of the ''Caucasian Calendar'', the village of Qubadli was home to 672 people, the majority of whom were Azerbaijanis (classified as "Tatars" in the census). The National Hero of Azerbaijan () is the highest Hero (title), national title in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The title was named on 25 March 1992, and the "Qizil Ulduz" Medal awarded as a sign of receiving this title was established by a separate law on 15 July 1992. The law on the title has been in effect since 25 December 1995. It can only be awarded once to the same person. A helicopter is a type of rotorcraft in which lift and thrust are supplied by horizontally spinning rotors. Javanshir Rahimov
Javanshir Izzat oglu Rahimov (; June 5, 1973 – August 6, 1992) was an Azerbaijani soldier and the National Hero of Azerbaijan. Early years Rahimov was born in Qaşqaçay, Qakh. When he was one year old his family moved to Baku, Qaraçuxur. He finished secondary school No. 104 in Suraxanı raion. Military service In April 1992, Javanshir Rahimov entered active military service. He became an onboard shooter on Military helicopters. He expressed his desire to go to war as a volunteer and was assigned to a MI-24 Helicopter. Nagorno Karabakh War On August 6, 1992, on his second flight of the day he was wounded. Rahimov insisted that he was ready for flight and flew again. This time their helicopter was shot down by missile fire from Armenian forces. He was posthumously awarded the title of the National Hero of Azerbaijan on 14 September 1992, by the decree № 204 of the President of Azerbaijan Republic.
