The Unauthorized Rusical
"The Unauthorized Rusical" is the eighth episode of the tenth season of the American reality competition television series ''RuPaul's Drag Race'', which aired on VH1 on May 10, 2018. The episode has contestants attempt to get RuPaul to fake slap them for the mini challenge, and sing live a musical about Cher for the main challenge. Billy Eichner and Andrew Rannells serve as guest judges, alongside regular panelists RuPaul, Michelle Visage, and Carson Kressley. Episode Mini challenge The seven remaining contestants are asked by RuPaul to participate in an improv mini-challenge, called "Slap Out of It", that pastiches a similar scene from the finale of season two. ''RuPaul's Drag Race'' is an American reality competition television series, the first in the ''Drag Race'' franchise, produced by World of Wonder for Logo TV (season 1–8), WOW Presents Plus, VH1 (season 9–14) and, beginning with the fifteenth season, MTV. The show documents RuPaul in the search for "America's next drag superstar". RuPaul plays the role of host, mentor, and head judge for this series, as contestants are given different challenges each week. Contestants are judged by a panel that includes RuPaul, Michelle Visage, an alternating third main judge of either Carson Kressley, Ross Mathews, or Ts Madison, and one or more guest judges, who critique their progress throughout the competition. The sixth season of ''RuPaul's Drag Race'' began airing February 24, 2014. Like the fifth season, the season featured 14 contestants competing for the title of "America's Next Drag Superstar". For the first time in the show's history, the season premiere was split into two episodes; the fourteen queens were split into two groups and the seven queens in each group competed against each other before being united as one group for the third episode. "Social Media: The Unverified Rusical" is the eighth episode of the thirteenth season of the American reality competition television series ''RuPaul's Drag Race'', which aired on VH1 on February 19, 2021. The episode has contestants perform a musical about social media for the main challenge. Jamal Sims served as guest judge, alongside regular panelists RuPaul, Michelle Visage, and Ross Mathews. During the challenge, contestants are required to record their own vocals, then dance and lip-sync on the main stage as they portray various social media platforms and other aspects of the internet.
