Liam Rushe
Liam Rushe (born 18 June 1990) is an Irish hurler who currently plays as a centre back for the Dublin senior team. Rushe made his first appearance for the team during the 2009 championship and has become a regular member of the starting fifteen since then. During that time he has won one Leinster Senior Hurling Championship winner's medal (2013) one National Hurling League winner's medal and has been a runner-up in two Leinster finals. At club level Rushe plays with St Patrick's, Palmerstown. Rushe did both his primary and secondary schooling through Irish. He is a fluent Irish speaker and does match commentary work with TG4. Playing career Club As a member of the St Patrick's, Palmerstown club, he won a county club 'B' championship title in 2008. Minor and under-21 Rushe first came to prominence on the inter-county scene in 2007 as a member of the Dublin minor hurling team in 2007. David Rushe
David Rushe Victoria Cross, VC (28 April 1827 – 6 November 1886) was an England, English recipient of the Victoria Cross. Details Rushe was 30 years old, and a Troop Sergeant-Major, troop sergeant-major in the 9th Lancers (The Queen's Royal), British Army during the Indian Mutiny when the following deed took place for which he was awarded the VC: Rushe received his Victoria Cross from Queen Victoria at Windsor Castle on 4 January 1860. This joined his medals for the 1st and 2nd Sikh Wars and the Indian Mutiny. He also received the Good Conduct Medal (UK), Good Conduct Medal and the Long Service Medal. Further information He later achieved the rank of regimental sergeant-major. Rushe died on 6 November 1886 at Great Marlow and was buried without a stone at All Saints Church, Marlow.Location of grave and VC medal

James Carrige Rushe Lardner
James Carrige Rushe Lardner (22 May 1879 – 3 May 1925) was an Irish Nationalist Member of the Parliament of the United Kingdom for North Monaghan, 1907–18. Born at the Diamond, Monaghan, he was the son of Hugh William Lardner, a traveller for a wine merchant, and Anne Loughran. He was educated at a Christian Brothers' school, at St Macartan's College, Monaghan, and at Clongowes Wood College, Co. Kildare. He became a solicitor in 1900 and a barrister in 1913, being a member of both King's Inns, Dublin, and Gray's Inn, London. He became a K.C. (King's Counsel) in 1921 and a bencher of King's Inns in 1924. In 1920 he married Rita, daughter of Sir Joseph Downes of South Hill, a Nationalist alderman and High Sheriff of Dublin and a director of Hibernian General Insurance. They had two sons.
