Rush Croft Sports College
South Chingford Foundation School (formerly Rush Croft Sports College and Rush Croft Foundation School) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in the Chingford area of the London Borough of Waltham Forest, England. The school was awarded specialist Sports College status, before converting to academy status on 1 October 2012. Since converting to an academy, the school is now run by the Chingford Academies Trust, which also includes Chingford Foundation School. The current headteacher is Emma Hobbs who took control replacing Robert Mammen in April 2024. The school's motto/vision is 'Building ambition for all'. Chingford is a suburban town in east London, England, within the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The centre of Chingford is north-east of Charing Cross, with Waltham Abbey to the north, Woodford Green and Buckhurst Hill to the east, Walthamstow to the south, and Edmonton and Enfield to the west. Sports Colleges are senior secondary schools which promote sports alongside secondary education. United Kingdom Sports Colleges were introduced in 1997 as part of the Specialist Schools Programme in the United Kingdom. The programme enabled secondary schools to specialise in certain fields, in this case, PE, sports and dance. Schools that successfully applied to the Specialist Schools Trust and became Sports Colleges received extra funding from this joint private sector and government scheme. Chingford Foundation School is a coeducational state secondary school and sixth form located in Chingford in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. It is a specialist Humanities College and has been an academy since October 2012. History Chingford Foundation School (a co-educational all-inclusive school) was opened in 1938 in temporary premises at Hawkwood House in Yardley Lane, under the control of Essex County Council, as Chingford County High School. The following year, it was evacuated to the west of England and it did not occupy its present buildings in Nevin Drive until 1941. The school was enlarged in 1957. Patrick Agyemang (footballer, Born 1980)
Patrick Agyemang (born 29 September 1980) is a former professional footballer who played as a forward. Agyemang began his career at Wimbledon, progressing through the club's youth system. He was loaned out to Brentford in October 1999 for three months, before returning to his parent club. Agyemang played regularly for Wimbledon, making 137 appearances and scoring 22 goals over the next four seasons. With Wimbledon struggling financially, he was sold to First Division club Gillingham in January 2004, spending ten months with the club before signing for Preston North End in November 2004 for a fee of £350,000. Curtis Eugene Davies (born 15 March 1985) is a former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Born in England, he represented the Sierra Leone national team. Davies began his career at Luton Town, for whom he made his professional debut in 2003. Davies moved to Premier League side West Bromwich Albion in 2005. He signed on loan for Aston Villa in 2007, making the move permanent in 2008. Daniel Fogg
Daniel Lee Fogg (born 24 August 1987) is an English competitive swimmer who has represented Great Britain in the Olympics, World and European Championships as well as England in the Commonwealth Games. Daniel Fogg specialises in the 1500-metre freestyle and open water swimming events. Early career Daniel started his career swimming for London Borough of Waltham Forest (Gators) Swimming Club, representing the club at all levels, also captaining the club. In 2005, Daniel was selected to swim for the Great British Junior team at the European Junior Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary. Daniel came 8th in the 1500m freestyle in a time of 15:42.61. Daniel Fogg started his education at Chase Lane and later moved on to Rush Croft Sports College in Chingford, London.
