Rural Ramble
The Rural Ramble is an annual summer farm tour made up of a selection of regional farms showcasing many aspects of the local agricultural operations. It is an example of agritourism which provides opportunities for non-farm people to learn first hand where their food comes from, and to foster a broader understanding of the importance of agriculture today. Frequently tours highlight the history of farming in Ontario along with today's practices and technology. New host sites come onto the tour and older ones leave, so the tour is unique each year. Host farms and rural businesses are listed in a "passport" booklet, which contains information about the sites and a map of the county showing how to find each place. Wristbands sold at various pre-event sales outlets and at the gates on the tour days provide admission for children and adults. Agritourism or agrotourism involves any agriculturally based operation or activity that brings visitors to a farm or ranch. Warkworth, Ontario
Warkworth is a community in the municipality of Trent Hills, Northumberland in Central Ontario, Canada. Originally known as Percy Mills (1851 Census), the village of Warkworth was incorporated in 1857, and became part of Trent Hills when the latter was formed in 2001. Havelock Country Jamboree
The Havelock Country Jamboree is a four-day country music camping festival held in the village of Havelock, Ontario (located northeast of Toronto). Called Canada's Largest Country Music and Camping Festival, the festival has a Thursday through Sunday schedule on the third weekend in August every year. For the 2019 version of the event, the Jamboree built twin stages, with each stage measuring wide by deep. The festival has been on-hold due to COVID-19 restrictions since 2020. History The Havelock Country Jamboree began in 1990 as a three-day event held on a few acres of farm fields with a semi-truck trailer as the stage. Ottawa Valley
The Ottawa Valley is the valley of the Ottawa River, along the boundary between Eastern Ontario and the Outaouais, Quebec, Canada. The valley is the transition between the Saint Lawrence Lowlands and the Canadian Shield. Because of the surrounding shield, the valley is narrow at its western end and then becomes increasingly wide (mainly on the Ontario side of the river) as it progresses eastward.
