Rungsted Strandvej
Rungsted, also known as ''Rungsted Kyst'', is an affluent suburban neighborhood in Hørsholm Municipality on the Øresund coast north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The center of Hørsholm is located two kilometers west of Rungsted. At the Øresund coast is Rungsted Harbour, a marina. History The name Rungsted is first recorded in 1346 in the form ''Runæstigh''. The name may be derived from Old Danish ''runi'' meaning and ''sti 'svinesti', later changed to ''sted''. Alternatively the first part of the name may refer to the small waves that are characteristic of the Øresund. Rungsted's inn, Rungsted Kro, is first mentioned in the beginning of the 16th century but it is probably much older. The inn moved in 1803, and the buildings were renamed Rungstedlund. Hørsholm Municipality
Hørsholm Municipality () is a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in the Capital Region in the northern part of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 31 km2, and has a total population of 25,168 (1. January 2025). Its mayor as of 2010 is Morten Slotved, a member of the Conservative People's Party (''Det Konservative Folkeparti''). The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Hørsholm. Olivia Holm-Møller
Olivia Holm-Møller (1875–1970) was a Danish painter and sculptor. Her richly coloured, almost abstract paintings provide a bridge between the early Danish Modernism of the 1910s and the Cobra works of the 1950s. Biography Born in Homå near Grenå in the east of Jutland, Holm-Møller was the daughter of the teacher Carl Vilhelm August Møller and Ane Kirstine Barbara Holm. After attending Grundvegian free schools, she was introduced to drawing and painting at Emilie Mundt and Marie Luplau's art school in Copenhagen. In 1901, she entered the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts where she studied under August Saabye, Viggo Johansen and Sigurd Wandel. Johannes Ewald
Johannes Ewald (18 November 174317 March 1781) was a Danish national dramatist, psalm writer and poet. The lyrics of a song from one of his plays are used for one of the Danish national anthems, ''Kong Christian stod ved højen mast'' which has equal status of national anthem together with '' Der er et yndigt land''. Quite until the days of romanticism, Ewald was considered the unsurpassed Danish poet. Christoffer Boe (born 1974) is a Danish film director and screenwriter. His awards include the FIPRESCI Director of the Year at San Sebastián International Film Festival and the Caméra d'Or, Golden Camera at Cannes Film Festival in 2003. Dorete Bloch, married name Dorete Bloch Danielsen, (14 June 1943 in Rungsted – 28 February 2015 in Tórshavn) was a Danish zoologist, former director of (the Faroes Natural History Museum), editor of ''Fróðskaparrit'' and author of numerous books on the animals and plants of the Faroe Islands. Bloch was born in Rungsted but moved to the Faroe Islands in 1974, where she remained for the rest of her life. She published studies on pilot whales, gaining a D.Phil in their study in 1991, covering aspects such as their migration patterns, diving behaviour and their importance on Faroese society.
