Constance Faunt Le Roy Runcie
Constance Faunt Le Roy Runcie (or Fauntleroy) (January 15, 1836 – May 17, 1911) was an American pianist, author and composer. Biography She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, the granddaughter of Welsh industrial reformer Robert Owen. After her father's death, she studied composition and piano in Germany from 1852–61 and then returned to Indiana. Faunt Le Roy married minister James Runcie and had four children. The couple lived in St. Joseph, Missouri, where Constance Runcie founded a woman's club to further cultural development of the area. Her daughter Ellinor Dale Runcie was also a writer. James Robert Runcie (born 7 May 1959) is a British novelist, documentary filmmaker, television producer and playwright. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a visiting professor at Bath Spa University and was Commissioning Editor for Arts on BBC Radio 4 from 2016 - 2020. Early life and education Runcie was born in Cambridge, the son of Robert Runcie, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, and Rosalind Runcie, a classical pianist. He was educated at the Dragon School in Oxford, Marlborough College, and Trinity Hall, Cambridge. In 1981, he earned a first-class English degree from Cambridge University. After Cambridge, Runcie went on to attend Bristol Old Vic Theatre School briefly. Writing Runcie has written the novels ''The Discovery of Chocolate'' (2001), ''The Colour of Heaven'' (2003), ''Canvey Island'' (2006), ''East Fortune'' (2009) and ''The Great Passion'' (2022). Robert Alexander Kennedy Runcie, Baron Runcie, (2 October 1921 – 11 July 2000) was an English Anglican bishop. He was the Archbishop of Canterbury from 1980 to 1991, having previously been Bishop of St Albans. He travelled the world widely to spread ecumenicism and worked to foster relations with both Protestant and Catholic churches across Europe. He was a leader of the Liberal Anglo-Catholicism movement. He came under attack for expressing compassion towards bereaved Argentines after the Falklands War of 1982, and generated controversy by supporting women's ordination.
