Run Dem Crew
Run Dem Crew is a London based running crew founded in 2007 by DJ, poet and youth mentor Charlie Dark as “a running club for people who don’t consider themselves runners”. Their name is derived from the reggae group Scare Dem Crew. The crew originated with Dark and his mates running around east London but has since grown to several hundred people who meet every Tuesday. Running Club
A running club, also known in some parts of the United States as a running crew , is an eclectic institution specialising in running and oriented towards the sport and recreation of running or track and field. The club may train for and compete in Cross country running, cross country, road running, fell running, track and field some clubs even branch out into multi discipline sports such as triathlon. Since the early 2000s, alternative running clubs or crews have emerged and they differ from traditional running clubs as the focus is on urban running on city streets. One of the crews widely considered to be the first is the Bridge Runners formed by Mike Saes in New York City in 2004. The England Athletics Hall of Fame was launched in 2008 with a panel of experts selecting a list of potential inductees for athletics fans and members of the public to vote on. The Hall of Fame honours those who have made an outstanding contribution to the sport of athletics in England. Each year the public is able to vote on a shortlist of athletes who have been put forward for voting by a panel of experts. The short list for the public to vote on is drawn up on various criteria, including the following: *Athletes will be selected for the Hall of Fame shortlist based on their contribution to the sport of athletics as well as performance. The London Marathon is an annual marathon held in London, United Kingdom, and is the 2nd largest annual road race in the UK, after the Great North Run in Newcastle.
