Mariano Rumor
Mariano Rumor (; 16 June 1915 – 22 January 1990) was an Italian politician and statesman. A member of the Christian Democracy (DC), he served as the 39th Prime Minister of Italy from December 1968 to August 1970 and again from July 1973 to November 1974. As Prime Minister, he led five different governments, supported by various coalitions. Rumor served as Minister of Agriculture from 1959 to 1963, Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1974 to 1976, and Minister of the Interior in two brief periods, in 1963 and from 1972 to 1973. Rumor was the DC secretary from 1964 to 1969. Early life and career Mariano Rumor was born in Vicenza, Veneto on 16 June 1915. Mario Zagari
Mario Zagari (14 September 1913–29 February 1996) was an Italian socialist politician, who served in the Italian Parliament and in the European parliament as well as in the Italian governments in various capacities. Early life and education Zagari was born in Milan on 14 September 1913. He held a law degree, which he received from the University of Milan. He attended courses of political economy at the University of Berlin. During World War II, Zagari was an anti-Nazi resistance militant. Career After the war Zagari began his political activity. He was leader of the anti-Stalinist group, called Iniziativa Socialista. He became a member of the Socialist Party on 18 July 1952. Salvatore Lauricella
Salvatore Lauricella (18 May 1922 – 7 November 1996) was an Italian attorney, politician, and chairman of the Italian Socialist Party. He was the father of Giuseppe Lauricella, deputy of the Democratic Party. Biography After obtaining a diploma from the "Pitagora" high school in Crotone, he graduated in law practicing the profession of lawyer, following in the footsteps of his father Giuseppe. In 1946, supported by the Italian Socialist Party, he became mayor of the country at the young age of 24. Franco Maria Malfatti
Franco Maria Malfatti (; 13 June 1927 – 10 December 1991) was an Italian politician who served as the 3rd President of the European Commission from 1970 to 1972. He served at Italian level as Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1979 to 1980 and Italian Minister of Education from 1973 to 1978. Biography Malfatti was born in Rome to parents who were from the province of Rieti. Mario Tanassi
Mario Tanassi (17 March 1916 – 5 May 2007) was an Italian politician, who was several times Minister of the Italian Republic. In 1979 he was condemned by the Constitutional Court of Italy for his involvement in the Lockheed bribery scandal. Biography Tanassi was born at Ururi, in the province of Campobasso. He joined the Italian Democratic Socialist Party (''Partito Socialista Democratico Italiano''; PSDI) and was later national co-secretary, alongside Francesco De Martino, of the unified PSI-PSDI, a short-lived reunion of the PSDI and the Italian Socialist Party. He was minister of defence for the first time in the Rumor II Cabinet (1970), formed by an alliance between Christian Democracy (DC), PSI and PSDI. Ugo La Malfa (16 May 1903 – 26 March 1979) was an Italian politician and an important leader of the Italian Republican Party (''Partito Repubblicano Italiano''; PRI). Early years and anti-fascist resistance La Malfa was born in Palermo, Sicily. After completing his secondary schooling, he enrolled in the Ca' Foscari University of Venice in the Department of Diplomatic Sciences with professors Silvio Trentin and Gino Luzzatto. During his years at the university, he had contacts within the republican movement of Treviso and other anti-fascist groups. In 1924, he moved to Rome, and participated in the foundation of the Goliardic Union for Freedom.
