Rumbidzai Takawira
Rumbidzai Takawira is a prominent Zimbabwean television personality, TV producer, broadcast journalist and former Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation main news anchor. She is also a karateka, she represented Zimbabwe at the World Karate Championships in Shizuoka, Japan. Early life Born in Harare on 11 January 1990, Rumbidzai Takawira grew up in Harare and attended her early education at Eaglesvale Primary and Secondary School. She studied journalism with CCOSA Journalism School. Career She started her career in 2010 when she was doing announcements during COTTCO Rugby Festival now known as Dairibord Zimbabwe Rugby Festival. In August 2012, Rumbidzai then auditioned for radio news at ZBC TV and was one of the successful participants. Harare (; formerly Salisbury ) is the Capital city, capital and most populous city of Zimbabwe. ZBC TV, also known as ZTV, is Zimbabwe's public broadcasting, public free to air television network that is fully owned and operated by the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation, state broadcaster. History In the country, television was introduced on 15 November 1960, making it the second country after Nigeria to launch such services in the Sub Saharan Africa and the first in Southern Africa. It was operated by a private company called Rhodesian Television (RTV) with its major shareholders being South African companies. Power FM Zimbabwe
Power FM is a Zimbabwean Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation, state owned urban music radio station that broadcasts nationwide on Frequency Modulation, FM. It was previously known as Radio 3 and later 3FM. The station was set up soon after the country got its independence in 1980 to cater for the urban youth. When it launched, it was broadcasting for 19 hours a day. It became a 24 hour station in the late 90s. The station was renamed to Power FM in 2004, at the time when it was broadcasting 100% Zimbabwean music, a law that was enforced by the former Zimbabwe's Information and Broadcasting minister, Jonathan Moyo. Mukudzeyi Mukombe (born 4 July 1987), better known as Jah Prayzah, is a Zimbabwean contemporary musician and lead member of the band ''Third Generation''. Selmor Mtukudzi is a Zimbabwean musician and actress. She is the daughter of the late Zimbabwean music icon and national hero, Oliver Mtukudzi.
