Rui Machida
Rui Machida (町田瑠唯; born 8 March 1993) is a Japanese basketball player who plays for the Washington Mystics of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) and Fujitsu Red Wave of the Women's Japan Basketball League (WJBL). She represented Japan in the women's tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics and at the women's tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics, winning a silver medal. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, she set an Olympic record with 18 assists in Japan's 87–71 semifinals win against France. Career She participated at the 2015 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup, 2017 Women’s Asia Cup, and 2019 Women’s Asia Cup. Hokkaido

2022 WNBA Playoffs
The 2022 WNBA Playoffs was the postseason tournament of the WNBA's 2022 season. This postseason ended with the Las Vegas Aces winning their first championship. Format In November 2021, the WNBA Board of Governors formalized a new playoff system that will structure the 2022 playoffs onward. The new playoff format scraps the single-elimination games of the first two rounds in favor of a best-of-3 quarterfinal round. As a result, all eight playoff teams, seeded according to overall regular season record regardless of conference (1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6, 4 vs. 5), will begin postseason play in the first round. 2022 Washington Mystics Season
The 2022 Washington Mystics season is the franchise's 25th season in the Women's National Basketball Association. The regular season will tip off versus the Indiana Fever on May 6, 2022. The Mystics won the Draft Lottery and received the 1st Overall pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft, despite only having the third best odds to win. This is the first time in franchise history that the Mystics had the #1 Overall pick. The team traded the pick to Atlanta and moved down to the third overall pick in the Draft. The 2022 WNBA season was the 26th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Chicago Sky were the defending champions. The WNBA's second Commissioner's Cup took place during the regular season, with the Las Vegas Aces winning over the Sky. In the playoffs, the Aces were the first seed and won the Finals over the Connecticut Sun. The regular season was expanded to 36 games per team, is the most games scheduled in a single WNBA season. A 36-game season was originally scheduled for 2020, but the plan was scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
