Rugby Challenge 2006
''Rugby Challenge 2006'' is a 2006 rugby union video game. There are a number of tournaments that can be played in the game, both club and international competition. In addition there is a career mode (which includes trade/recruitment/management etc.), full training mode, as well as player/team/tournament editor. There are a number of 'Challenge Modes' as well; Survival mode, Classic mode and Superstar mode. Classic games/teams can also be unlocked. The in-game commentators are John Inverdale and Dewi Morris. The game has multiplayer up to 4 people. Covers There are a number of different cover arts for the game; one features four different rugby union players (one from England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland), one features a number of Italian players, another has a Biarritz player (Dimitri Yachvili), and another has no rugby player, but a rugby ball on the cover. Swordfish Studios Limited was a British video game developer based in Birmingham founded by Trevor Williams and Joan Finnegan (wife of Paul Finnegan, former managing director of Rage Software Limited) in September 2002. Games developed by the company include two best selling International Rugby titles, including ''World Championship Rugby''. Others include '' Brian Lara International Cricket 2005'' and '' Cold Winter''. In 2004, Swordfish Studios was named 'Developer of the Year' by The Independent Games Developers Association. Swordfish Studios was acquired by Vivendi Universal Games in June 2005, becoming a fully owned studio of Sierra Entertainment. On 12 November 2008, Swordfish's Manchester studio was sold to Monumental Games. ''World Championship Rugby'' is a computer and video game developed after the 2003 Rugby World Cup. It was developed by Swordfish Studios and published by Acclaim Entertainment. As well as all the teams and games from the 2003 Rugby World Cup, the game includes a number of other tournaments, such as Six Nations, Tri Nations, custom leagues and cups, classic matches and tour games. Dimitri Yachvili Markarian (born 19 September 1980, in Brive-la-Gaillarde, Corrèze) is a French former rugby union footballer who played as a scrum-half for Biarritz and France. He played for France from 2002 to 2012, earning 61 caps and scoring 373 points. With them he played in the final of the 2011 World Cup losing to New Zealand and won two Grand Slams in 2004 and 2010. In club rugby, he won a European Cup in 2012 and played in two European Cup finals in 2006 and 2010 with Biarritz. With this club, he also won two French championship titles in 2005 and 2006.
