Rudy Carlton
Rudy Carlton (born ) is an American football coach. He is the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for JSerra Catholic High School; a position he has since 2023. He previously coached for Azusa Pacific, including a stint as the head coach in 2020 prior to the university cutting football. He also coached at West Florida. An offensive coordinator (OC) is a Coach (sport), coach responsible for a gridiron football team's offense (American football), offense. Generally, the offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator represent the second level of coaching structure, with the head coach being the first level. The primary role of the offensive coordinator is managing the roster of offensive players, overseeing the assistant coaches, developing the American football strategy#Offensive strategy, offensive game plan, and Play calling, calling plays for the offense during the game (though some offensive-minded head coaches may hold play-calling duties instead). AZUSA refers to a ground-based radar tracking system installed at Cape Canaveral, Florida and the NASA Kennedy Space Center. AZUSA was named after the southern California town Azusa, California where the system was devised in the early 1950s. Radar interferometry Radio interferometry yields very accurate tracking angles when a target emits a radio signal. This angular precision of interferometry led to the development of the Azusa tracking system as part of the Army Air Corps NUL-774 Project, forerunner of the Atlas ICBM program, at the Vultee Field Division of Consolidated Vultee Aircraft Corporation (Convair) in Downey, California.
