Rudy Bukich
Rudolph Andrew Bukich (September 15, 1930 – February 29, 2016) was an American professional football player, a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) from 1953 to 1968. Known as "Rudy the Rifle" for his uncommon arm strength, he tied an NFL record with 13 consecutive pass completions in the season. One year later, he was the second-leading passer in the league. He played college football at the University of Southern California, after transferring from the University of Iowa. 1952 Wisconsin Badgers Football Team
The 1952 Wisconsin Badgers football team represented the University of Wisconsin in the 1952 Big Ten Conference football season. Led by fourth-year head coach Ivy Williamson, the Badgers compiled an overall record of 6–3–1 with a mark of 4–1–1 in conference play, sharing the Big Ten title with Purdue. Wisconsin was invited to the Rose Bowl, where they lost to USC. It was the Badgers' first bowl game. Dave Suminski was the team's MVP and George O'Brien was team captain. Jim Sears
James Herbert "Jimmy" Sears (March 20, 1931January 4, 2002) was an American professional football player who was a defensive back and halfback in the National Football League (NFL) and the American Football League (AFL). He played college football for the USC Trojans. Early life Sears prepped at Inglewood High School in Inglewood, California, where he was student body president in spring 1949. College career Sears played college football at the University of Southern California. He was seventh in the Heisman Trophy voting his senior year, becoming the first Trojan to receive votes for the Heisman. In 1952, he became the second person to receive the W.J. The 1953 Rose Bowl was the 39th edition of the college football bowl game, played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on Thursday, January 1, at the end of the 1952 college football season. The fifth-ranked USC Trojans of the Pacific Coast Conference defeated the #11 Wisconsin Badgers of the Big Ten Conference, 7–0. It was Wisconsin's first bowl game and the first Rose Bowl appearance for the Trojans in five years. It is also the first meeting of the two football programs. The 1952 USC Trojans football team represented the University of Southern California (USC) in the 1952 college football season. In their second year under head coach Jess Hill, the Trojans compiled a 10–1 record (6–0 against conference opponents), won the Pacific Coast Conference championship, and outscored their opponents by a combined total of 254 to 47. The Trojans finished the season ranked No. 4 in the final United Press Coaches Poll and No. 5 in the final AP poll. Cleveland Junior Naval Academy (also known as Cleveland High School) was a magnet military academy high school in St. Louis, Missouri and was a part of the St. Louis Public Schools. Cleveland High School opened in 1915 as a comprehensive high school, merging with the Junior Naval Academy in 1984. The Junior Naval Academy was a magnet military academy, founded in 1981.
