Rudolf Frentz
Rudolf Rudolfovich Frentz (; 23 July 1888 – 27 December 1956) was a Soviet and Russian painter, watercolorist, graphic artist, illustrator and art teacher who lived and worked in Leningrad. He was a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists and one of the founders of the Leningrad School of Painting, Leningrad school of painting, most famous for his battle and monumental painting. Biography Frentz was born on 23 July 1888 in Marienburg, a suburb of Saint Petersburg, in the Saint Petersburg Governorate of the Russian Empire. Initially he learned from his father Rudolf Ferdinandovich Frentz (1831–1918), Academic of painting (1912), well-known Russian master of animal and hunting paintings. In 1918 Rudolf Frentz graduated from Higher Art School at the Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg, where he studied noted battle painters Vasily Savinsky and Mykola Samokysh, Nikolai Samokysh. Vera Mukhina Institute
The Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design (; abbreviated as СПГХПА) is the oldest school of design in Russia. It occupies a parcel of land immediately to the east of the Summer Garden in Saint Petersburg. History It was set up in Saint Petersburg in 1876 by Baron Alexander von Stieglitz (1814–84), a millionaire philanthropist, as the School of Technical Drawing. The Stieglitz Museum of Applied Arts was founded in 1878 for the benefit of its students. The school building was designed by Maximilian Messmacher (the school's director, until 1896). By the end of the century, the Central School had branches in Yaroslavl, Saratov, and Narva. Alexander Tikhonovich Pushnin (; March 28, 1921 – September 5, 1991) was a Soviet, Russian painter, Doctor of Art-criticism, professor of the Repin Institute of Arts, lived and worked in Leningrad, member of the Leningrad Union of Artists, regarded as one of the representatives of the Leningrad school of painting, most famous for his portrait and historical painting. Nikolai Ovchinnikov
Nikolai Vasilyevich Ovchinnikov (; 14 October 1918 – February 2004) was a Russian painter and professor. An ethnic Chuvash, he was the People's Artist of Russia and Chuvashia and Member of the National Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Chuvash Republic. Biography He was born in the village of Mizhuli in Mariinsko-Posadsky District of the Chuvash Republic in 1918. Studied in Alatyr Art School (1937). Vladimir Ivanovich Ovchinnikov (; 14 July 1911 – 22 June 1978) was a Soviet, Russian painter, lived and worked in Leningrad, member of the Leningrad branch of Union of Artists of Russian Federation, regarded as one of the leading representatives of the Leningrad school of painting, most famous for his landscape paintings. Biography Vladimir Ovchinnikov was born on 14 July 1911 in the village of Esipovka near the city of Saratov at the Volga River in a peasant family. Dmitry Georgievich Oboznenko (; July 10, 1930 – June 19, 2002) was a Soviet Russian painter, graphic artist, Honored Artist of the RSFSR who lived and worked in Saint Petersburg. Gevork Vartanovich Kotiantz (; ; 12 November 1909 – 28 August 1996) was a Soviet Armenian painter, who lived and worked in Leningrad, regarded as one of representatives of the Leningrad school of painting.
