Rubén Sobrero
Rubén Darío ''El Pollo'' Sobrero (Buenos Aires, 1961) is the leader of the Haedo chapter of the rail workers trade union of Argentina. Sobrero is ideologically aligned with the Trotskyist left. He opposed the railroad trade union (UF), formerly led by Jose Pedraza, who was convicted for killing activist Mariano Ferreyra in October 2010. Sobrero had accused Pedraza of being an "entrepreneur" and a member of the board of directors of the Ferrocarril General Manuel Belgrano railway company. On the morning of 30 September 2011, he was arrested in connection with arson attacks on railroad cars in May and remained in custody until 4 October 2011. Haedo, Buenos Aires Province
Haedo is a town located in Morón Partido, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It forms part of the urban conurbation of Greater Buenos Aires. With a surface of 6.11 km², it had 38,068 inhabitants as of 2001, down 13% from the 1991 census. Nonetheless, it is the fourth most populated unit (''localidad'') in Morón Partido, with a 12% of the total. This city was the place of residence of the Buenos Aires governor Manuel Fresco located between Caseros 200 and Llavallol 1220. Transport The railway station was opened on 1 August 1886, and it was originally serviced by the Buenos Aires Western Railway. Trotskyism is the political ideology and branch of Marxism developed by Ukrainian-Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky and some other members of the Left Opposition and Fourth International. Trotsky self-identified as an orthodox Marxist, a revolutionary Marxist, and Bolshevik– Leninist, a follower of Marx, Engels, and 3L: Vladimir Lenin, Karl Liebknecht, and Rosa Luxemburg. He supported founding a vanguard party of the proletariat, proletarian internationalism, and a dictatorship of the proletariat (as opposed to the "dictatorship of the bourgeoisie", which Marxists argue defines capitalism) based on working-class self-emancipation and mass democracy. Murder Of Mariano Ferreyra
On 20 October 2010, Argentine student and Trotskyist activist Mariano Ferreyra was shot dead in Buenos Aires by members of a railway workers union. Incident Mariano Ferreyra (born 3 June 1987 in Sarandí) was an Argentine student active in the Workers' Party (''Partido Obrero''). During a dispute involving railway workers in Buenos Aires, he was shot by supporters of the Peronist ''Unión Ferroviaria'' (railways union), affiliated to the CGT, in a clash with socialist workers. Two other people were injured in the shooting. One, Elsa Rodríguez, a mother of three, was seriously injured and still fighting for her life in hospital a week later. At the time, it was alleged that the police stood by. Ferreyra's death led to widespread protests in Argentina. The General Manuel Belgrano Railway (FCGMB) (Spanish: Ferrocarril General Manuel Belgrano), named after the Argentine politician and military leader Manuel Belgrano, is a railway and the longest of the Argentine system. It was one of the six State-owned Argentine railway companies formed after President Juan Perón's nationalisation of the railway network in 1948. Jorge Altamira
Jorge Altamira (born José Saúl Wermus in 1942), is an Argentine activist and politician leading the Workers' Party (''Partido Obrero'') in Argentina. He was born José Saúl Wermus (sometimes spelled "José Huermus") in Buenos Aires, on 14 April 1942. Altamira's parents were ethnically Jewish but spiritually atheist and he was raised without religious conviction. Son of a printing worker active in the Graphist Union, Altamira began participating in the labor movement at an early age, and took part in a number of strikes. Altamira had a son. He founded an advocacy magazine, ''Política Obrera'', in 1964, and, later a party by the same name. The Workers' Left Front – Unity ( es, Frente de Izquierda y de los Trabajadores – Unidad, FIT-U) is an alliance of initially three Trotskyist parties in Argentina formed to fight a number of elections in 2011, announced at a press conference in April that year. They are the Workers' Party (PO), the Socialist Workers' Party (PTS), and Socialist Left (IS). In 2019, the Workers' Socialist Movement (MST) joined the alliance. These parties had stood separately at the Argentine elections of 2007 and 2009, the PO on its own, and the PTS and IS in an alliance with the Movement for Socialism (MAS). The term applies particularly to serving a prison sentence in a prison. English law "Prisoner" is a legal term for a person who is imprisoned.
