RtBrick
RtBrick is a software company that specializes in providing routing operating systems for telcos and Internet Service Providers (ISPs), to build networks on open switch hardware. RtBrick supplies its software to work on open switch hardware in disaggregated networks, as defined by the Telecom Infra Project, specifically its Open Optical & Packet Transport working group. History RtBrick was founded by Pravin S Bhandarkar (CEO) and Hannes Gredler (CTO) in California, USA, in 2015. In October 2018, the company received a $6M investment from T-Capital Partners and Swisscom Ventures. In April 2020, RtBrick launched its Network Operating System for broadband network operators. In January 2021, Deutsche Telekom deployed RtBrick's software in its broadband network. In August 2021, RtBrick became the first company to integrate with Broadcom's Q2C chipsets to provide a software Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) on multiple open hardware platforms. In October 2021, RtBrick won the Best ...

Internet Service Provider
An Internet service provider (ISP) is an organization that provides a myriad of services related to accessing, using, managing, or participating in the Internet. ISPs can be organized in various forms, such as commercial, community-owned, non-profit, or otherwise privately owned. Internet services typically provided by ISPs can include internet access, internet transit, domain name registration, web hosting, and colocation. History The Internet (originally ARPAnet) was developed as a network between government research laboratories and participating departments of universities. Other companies and organizations joined by direct connection to the backbone, or by arrangements through other connected companies, sometimes using dialup tools such as UUCP. By the late 1980s, a process was set in place towards public, commercial use of the Internet. Some restrictions were removed by 1991, shortly after the introduction of the World Wide Web. During the 1980s, online s ...

Telecom Infra Project
The Telecom Infra Project (TIP) was formed in 2016 as an engineering-focused, collaborative methodology for building and deploying global telecom network infrastructure, with the goal of enabling global access for all. TIP is jointly steered by its group of founding tech and telecom companies, which forms its board of directors, and is chaired by Vodafone's Head of Network Strategy and Architecture, Yago Tenorio. Member companies host technology incubator labs and accelerators, and TIP hosts an annual infrastructure conference, TIP Summit. Which was renamed to FYUZ and hosted in Madrid in October 2022. The organization adopts transparency of process and collaboration in the development of new technologies, by its more than 500 participating member organizations, including operators, suppliers, developers, integrators, startups and other entities, that participate in various TIP project groups. Projects employ current case studies to evolve telecom equipment and software into more ...

Network Operating System
A network operating system (NOS) is a specialized operating system for a network device such as a router, switch or firewall. Historically operating systems with networking capabilities were described as network operating systems, because they allowed personal computers (PCs) to participate in computer networks and shared file and printer access within a local area network (LAN). This description of operating systems is now largely historical, as common operating systems include a network stack to support a client–server model. Key Functions Network Operating Systems (NOS) are responsible for managing various network activities. Key functions include creating and managing user accounts, controlling access to resources such as files and printers, and facilitating communication between devices. NOS also monitors network performance, addresses issues, and manages resources to ensure efficient and secure operation of the network. History Packet switching networks were develope ...

Broadband Remote Access Server
A broadband remote access server (BRAS, B-RAS or BBRAS) routes traffic to and from broadband remote access devices such as digital subscriber line access multiplexers (DSLAM) on an Internet service provider's (ISP) network. BRAS can also be referred to as a broadband network gateway or border network gateway (BNG).{{cite web, title=TR-101 Migration to Ethernet-Based DSL Aggregation, url=https://www.broadband-forum.org/technical/download/TR-101_Issue-2.pdf, website=Broadband Forum, accessdate=12 April 2018 The BRAS sits at the edge of an ISP's core network, and aggregates user sessions from the access network. It is at the BRAS that an ISP can inject policy management and IP quality of service (QoS). The specific tasks include: * Aggregates the circuits from one or more link access devices such as DSLAMs * Provides layer 2 connectivity through either transparent bridging or PPP sessions over Ethernet or ATM sessions * Enforces QoS policies * Provides layer 3 connectivity and ...

TMC (TV Channel)
TMC (; originally short for Télé Monte-Carlo) is a Franco– Monégasque entertainment television channel, owned by French media holding company Groupe TF1. History The genesis In 1939, Charles Michelson obtained concession to operate Radio Tangier. The project was, taken over by French authorities after World War II to create Radio Impériale. On February 6, 1948, Michelson obtained a compensational five-year management contract for shortwave radio at Radio Monte-Carlo. The management is majority owned by Sofirad and through it, by the French State. The failure of technical experiments with this mode of retransmission led François Mitterrand, then Minister of Information, to make a concession to Michelson. On October 22, 1949, he benefited from a “sub-concession option” for television in the Principality of Monaco, from the company owning Radio Monte-Carlo. The opportunity is significant as on October 12, 1949, Sofirad president Jacques Meyer announced the French go ...

Operating System
An operating system (OS) is system software that manages computer hardware and software resources, and provides common daemon (computing), services for computer programs. Time-sharing operating systems scheduler (computing), schedule tasks for efficient use of the system and may also include accounting software for cost allocation of Scheduling (computing), processor time, mass storage, peripherals, and other resources. For hardware functions such as input and output and memory allocation, the operating system acts as an intermediary between programs and the computer hardware, although the application code is usually executed directly by the hardware and frequently makes system calls to an OS function or is interrupted by it. Operating systems are found on many devices that contain a computerfrom cellular phones and video game consoles to web servers and supercomputers. , Android (operating system), Android is the most popular operating system with a 46% market share, followed ...
