Rozdolne, Volnovakha Raion, Donetsk Oblast
Rozdolne () is a rural settlement in Velyka Novosilka settlement hromada, Volnovakha Raion, Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. The population was 1,120 at the 2001 Ukrainian census. History During the Russo-Ukrainian War and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the settlement became a target of Russian forces as part of their offensive in the area towards Velyka Novosilka. Russian forces pressed on the village and started storming it on the 23 November 2024, along with the fortified settlement Velyka Novosilka on 24 November. Russian sources claimed that the settlement had been captured on 26 and 27 November. The occupation of the village was confirmed by DeepStateMap.Live on 29 November. Velyka Novosilka (, ) is a '' selyshche'' ( a type of rural settlement) in Volnovakha Raion, Donetsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine. Population: The settlement has been under Russian occupation since January 28, 2025. Geography The village is located on the eastern, right bank of the Mokri Yaly River, a tributary of the Vovcha in the Dnieper basin, located 90 km from Donetsk and 45 km from the Roy railway station. 2024 Velyka Novosilka Offensive
A military engagement between the Russian Armed Forces and Ukrainian Armed Forces for control over the Ukrainian town of Velyka Novosilka and the nearby area began in November 2024 and ended with the Russian capture of the town in January 2025.
