Lita Roza
Lilian Patricia Lita Roza (14 March 1926 – 14 August 2008) was an English singer best known for her 1953 recording "(How Much Is) That Doggie in the Window?", which reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart. She was the first British woman to have a No. 1 hit in the UK chart. Early life and career Lilian Patricia Lita Roza was born in Liverpool on 14 March 1926, the eldest of seven children. She began work at an early age to support the family. She owed her sultry looks and passion to her father, an amateur accordionist and pianist of Filipino descent who played in Liverpool nightclubs. Roza Isakovna Otunbayeva (Kyrgyz language, Kyrgyz: Роза Исаковна (Исак кызы) Отунбаева, Roza Isakovna (Isak kyzy) Otunbayeva; born August 23, 1950) is a Kyrgyz people, Kyrgyz diplomat and politician who served as the President of Kyrgyzstan from 7 April 2010 until 1 December 2011, becoming the first female Central Asian head of state. Roza Anagnosti (born 27 October 1943) is an Albanian film and stage actress, and the wife of director Dhimitër Anagnosti. She is known for ''Fijet që priten'' (1976), ''Mësonjëtorja'' (1980) and ''Detyrë e posaçme'' (1963). Life and career Anagnosti started her career at the Migjeni Theater in Shkodra. At 20, she became a movie actress with the role of a teacher in the film ''Special Duty'' (K. Dhamo, 1963). A year later she played the role of File in ''Our Land'' (H. Hakani, 1964). In 1966 she worked in the film debut of filmmakers Dhimiter Anagnosti and Viktor Gjika, in ''The Commissar of Light''. After this film, Roza and Dhimitri married and lived in Tirana. Roza Urbiybi Tazhibaykyzy Baglanova ( kk, Roza Täjıbaiqyzy Bağlanova; January 1, 1922 – February 8, 2011) was a Soviet and Kazakh soprano opera and pop music singer. She was honoured with many awards throughout her career, including the People's Artist of the USSR (1967) and the Order of Lenin. She was also deemed a Hero of Kazakhstan. Her cookbook ''Honar-e Aashpazi'' (''The Art of Cooking'') has been in publication since 1964–1965 and is now in its 41st edition with 1700 Iranian cuisine, Iranian and non-Iranian recipes. ''Roza'' is a 1987 musical based on the novel ''The Life Before Us'' by Romain Gary with music by Gilbert Bécaud and lyrics and book by Julian More. Background Bécaud had seen '' Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street'' and was inspired to work with Harold Prince, who directed the 1979 Stephen Sondheim musical. He wanted to adapt the novel ''The Life Before Us'' by Romain Gary into a musical, which was also made into a movie ''Madame Rosa'' starring Simone Signoret (1977), but Prince declined. Prince stated that he hated the movie and thought it was "sentimental and negative". Becaud was determined to convince Prince, and Prince eventually agreed on one condition: that he be able to choose the librettist who would also write the lyrics. Roza Robota (1921 – 6 January 1945) or Róża Robota in Polish, referred to in other sources as Rojza, Rózia or Rosa, was the leader of a group of four women Holocaust resistors hanged in the Auschwitz concentration camp for their role in the ''Sonderkommando'' prisoner revolt of 7 October 1944. Roza Miletić (born 1934), better known as Teta Roza (lit. Aunt Roza), is a veteran of the Croatian War of Independence known for capturing a tank and a Yugoslav pilot. Miletić was born in Rastoke near Slunj. Her mother left her and her father was killed by the Yugoslav Partisans while serving as a Croatian Home Guard during World War II. Her husband was an alcoholic and she had a difficult time raising her six children. When the Croatian War of Independence broke out her daughter worked as an army nurse in Vukovar hospital and her five sons were enlisted in the Croatian Army scattered around Croatian fronts. Roza also joined the Croatian Army soon after the war started, as a member of the 110th Slunj battalion of the Karlovac brigade, as she lived in the village of Kamenica at the front lines. Andrej Rozman
Andrej Rozman (a.k.a. Roza, born 25 May 1955) is a Slovene poet, writer, actor, and street theatre producer. He writes poems and creates plays for children and also writes satirical poetry for adults. Life and work Rozman was born in Ljubljana in 1955. He abandoned his study of Slovene language and literature at University of Ljubljana to set up a small theatre group in 1978. In 1980s he co-founded a street theatre group, '' Ana Monró Theatre'' and was its director between 1982 and 1995. He was co-writer of the low-budget TV comedy '' Vrtičkarji'' (2000), but left after the first thirteen episodes, disappointed by the production. Since 2003 he has run his own theatre company ''Rozinteater''.
