''Roystonea regia'', commonly known as the royal palm, Cuban royal palm, or Florida royal palm, is a species of Arecaceae, palm native to Mexico, the Caribbean, Florida, and parts of Central America. A large and attractive palm, it has been planted throughout the tropics and subtropics as an ornamental tree. Although it is sometimes called ''R. elata'', the conserved name ''R. regia'' is now the correct name for the species. The royal palm reaches heights from tall. Populations in Cuba and Florida were long seen as separate species, but are now considered a single species. Widely planted as an ornamental, ''R. regia'' is also used for thatch, construction timber, and in some forms of traditional medicine, although there is currently no valid scientific evidence to support the efficacy or use of any palm species for medicinal purposes. Royal Palm (train)
The ''Royal Palm'' was a named train of the Southern Railway that ran from Cincinnati, Ohio, to Jacksonville, Florida, and then on the Florida East Coast Railway's '' East Coast Champion'' to Miami, Florida. The train was discontinued in 1970. Operations The ''Royal Palm'' provided connections with the New York Central Railroad at Cincinnati for passengers headed to Detroit, Cleveland and St. Louis. The Pennsylvania Railroad from Cincinnati provided a connection to Chicago. A through sleeper and coach between Miami and Detroit operated until 1957. The Florida East Coast Railway operated the Jacksonville to Miami section of the route, on the FEC's #5 train south and #6 train north. From Jacksonville to St. Petersburg the Seaboard Air Line operated that alternate section of the train on the SAL's ''Silver Meteor.'' The Royal Palm is a breed of domestic turkey. It is not primarily selected for meat production, and is usually kept as an ornamental bird with a unique appearance, largely white with bands of metallic black. The Royal Palm first appeared in the 1920s on a farm in Lake Worth, Florida, apparently as a cross between Black, Bronze, Narragansett, and native turkeyYears of selective breeding followed to stabilize the coloring, and the Royal Palm was finally accepted by the American Poultry Association's Standard of Perfection in 1971. Royal Palm Golf And Country Club
The Royal Palm Golf and Country Club (RPGCC) is a golf course and social club complex in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. It is located on the Canal Bank Road in Lahore. It was previously owned by the Pakistan Railways and called the Pakistan Railways Golf Club. In 2001, the club was sold by Pakistan Railways to the current management and renamed as the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club. It is a national and international sports venue. As of 2013, membership cost the equivalent of $8,000. In 2004, a large group of Bollywood personalities from India, including actors Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty and Sajid Khan, were hosted at an event at the club during their visit to Lahore. Royal Palms Resort And Spa
Royal Palms Resort and Spa is a historic hotel in Phoenix, Arizona. It was built in Spanish Colonial style in 1929 as a retirement home for New York businessman Delos Cooke, who died unexpectedly in 1931, and his wife. It opened as a hotel in 1948. It is a member of the Historic Hotels of America program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The hotel's mahogany front doors are original. It has an almost-unique imported Spanish tile mural called the " Lady of Spain". Its Mansion Courtyard has 24 tiles in its archways, each representing a Spanish province; these are also original to the estate. The resort has almost 200 examples of palm trees, in 14 varieties.
