The Royal Danish Air Force Academy () educates and commissions all officers for the Royal Danish Air Force. The Air Force Officer Academy function was initiated in 1951 by the creation of the Royal Danish Air Force. Værløse
Værløse () is a town in Furesø Municipality in the northwestern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark. As of 1 January 2025, it has a population of 13,200. Situated on the west side of the Hillerød Motorway, between Farum Lake to the north and Søndersø Lake to the south, it is surrounded by forest on three sides. Modern Værløse emerged around Værløse station in the 1950s. The original centre of the parish was the village of Kirke Værløse, located three kilometres to the west. The two communities have now almost merged. History Kirke Værløse is mentioned in 1321–23 as ''Vetherløsa maklæ''. The meaning of the name is unclear but it may be an old name for the lake Søndersø. The Royal Danish Naval Academy ( or more commonly, ''Søofficerskolen'') educates and commissions all officers for the Royal Danish Navy. Having existed for more than 300 years, it is the oldest still-existing officers' academy in the world. The education All aspirants (unlike many navies all candidates begin their time as aspirants and then become cadets) begin their education with 6 months of basic military training and general seamanship. Gentofte () is a district of Gentofte Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. Major landmarks include Gentofte Town Hall, Gentofte Hospital and Gentofte Church. Bernstorff Palace
Bernstorff Palace () in Gentofte, Copenhagen, Denmark, was built in the middle of the 18th century for Foreign Minister Count Johann Hartwig Ernst von Bernstorff. It remained in the possession of the Bernstorff, Bernstorff family until 1812. In 1842, it was bought by Christian VIII of Denmark, Christian VIII. For many years, it was used as a summer residence by Christian IX of Denmark, Christian IX until his death in 1906. The Danish Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) () is a Danish governmental agency under the Ministry of Societal Resilience and Contingency. Holmen Naval Base
Naval Station Holmen () is one of several naval stations of the Royal Danish Navy, supplementing the two Danish naval bases in Frederikshavn and Korsør. Founded in the late 17th century, it is also a visitor attraction with many historical buildings that has played a vital role in the history of Denmark as well as Copenhagen. The naval base used to occupy the entire area of Holmen, which was in fact created by a series of landfills to house it, but is now confined to its northernmost island of Nyholm.
