Roy North
Roy North, born 16 March 1941 in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England is an English actor and television presenter, who played Mr Roy in ''Basil Brush''. He attended Hull Grammar School and is a Hull City fan, and occasionally he would wear a Hull City shirt on the television. He trained as an actor at the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama, and then appeared in repertory theatre in Yorkshire, West End musical productions and pantomimes. He appeared on series 8–11 of the original '' Basil Brush Show'' from 1973 until 1976. He had been appearing in the London West End production of ''Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat'', when he received a call to audition to replace Derek Fowlds as the glove puppet's companion. Derek James Fowlds (2 September 1937 – 17 January 2020) was an English actor. He played "Mr Derek" in '' The Basil Brush Show'' (1969–1973), Bernard Woolley in the sitcom '' Yes Minister'' (1980–1984) and its sequel, '' Yes, Prime Minister'' (1986–1988), and Oscar Blaketon in '' Heartbeat'' (1992–2010). Early life Derek James Fowlds was born on 2 September 1937 in Wandsworth, London, the son of Ketha Muriel (née Treacher) and James Witney Fowlds, a salesman. ''Seaside Special'' is a European light entertainment show broadcast from 1975. It was an outside broadcast based at a big top around numerous British seaside resorts. Originally the big top belonged to various circuses (mainly Gerry Cottle's Circus), but in later seasons, the BBC bought its own to be the venue. The programme was developed by producer Michael Hurll. The series was developed after a short-lived, 6 part 'trial' aired on BBC2 in 1973, under the title ''Show of the Week: The Young Generation Big Top'', starring the dance troupe The Young Generation and hosted by various personalities. ''Get It Together'' is a British children's television series, produced by Granada Television for the UK ITV network between 6 April 1977 and 22 December 1981. The series followed an almost identical format to the earlier '' Lift Off with Ayshea'', also created by series producer Muriel Young.
