Kfar Aza Massacre
On 7 October 2023, around 70 Hamas militants attacked Kfar Aza, a kibbutz about from the border with the Gaza Strip, massacring residents and 2023 Israel–Hamas war hostage crisis, abducting several hostages. Kfar Aza had more than 700 residents prior to the attack, and it took two days for the Israel Defense Forces to regain full control of the area. While the exact total of Israelis killed is yet unknown, as of 15 October 52 were listed as dead, and a further 20 or more were missing. The attack is notable for claims of brutality in the form of beheadings, dismemberment, and victims having been burned alive. Yahav Winner ( he, יהב וינר; 4 June 1986 – 7 October 2023) was an Israeli filmmaker, actor, producer and cinematographer. He was murdered in the Kfar Aza massacre, part of the October 7 Hamas-led attack which sparked the 2023 Israel–Hamas War. Life and career Winner graduated from the Nissan Nativ Acting Studio in 2014. Jaffa, in Hebrew Yafo ( he, יָפוֹ, ) and in Arabic Yafa ( ar, يَافَا) and also called Japho or Joppa, the southern and oldest part of Tel Aviv-Yafo, is an ancient port city in Israel.
