Roy E. LaGrone
Roy Elmer LaGrone (February 1, 1921 – December 8, 1993) was an American art director and illustrator. He was a member of the Tuskegee Airmen. Biography LaGrone was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, on February 1, 1921. He studied at the Tuskegee Institute. Before graduating he was drafted into the Army Air Corps in 1942. During World War II LaGrone fought with the 332d Fighter Group (known as the Tuskegee Airmen) in Africa and Italy. He was discharged from military service in 1946. LaGrone remained in Italy for a time to study at the University of Florence. He returned to the United States and completed his studies at the Pratt Institute, graduating in 1949. LaGrone's employment included art director for the magazine ''Amerika'', art director of the Rutgers University Medical School, and creating historical images of the U.S. Air Force and the Tuskegee Airmen. Pine Bluff, officially the City of Pine Bluff, is the List of municipalities in Arkansas, tenth-most populous city in the U.S. state of Arkansas and the county seat of Jefferson County, Arkansas, Jefferson County. The Aviation Hall of Fame & Museum of New Jersey was founded in 1972 and preserves New Jersey's aviation and space heritage. The museum displays historic aircraft, space equipment, artifacts, photographs, art and an aircraft model collection. The library has more than 4,000 volumes and a collection of aviation video. Franklin Township is a township in Somerset County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is centrally located in the Raritan Valley region within the New York Metropolitan Area. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 68,364, an increase of 6,064 (+9.7%) from the 2010 census count of 62,300, which in turn reflected an increase of 11,397 (+22.4%) from the 50,903 counted in the 2000 census.
