Rowland Lee (bishop)
Bishop Rowland Lee (''or'' Leigh; c. 1487 – 28 January 1543) was an English clergyman who served as Bishop of Coventry and Lichfield 1534–1543, 43 and also as Lord President of the Council, Lord President of the Marches under King Henry VIII. Life His family hailed from Isell, Cumberland, and he was educated at Cambridge University, Cambridge. After being ordained as a priest Leigh obtained several Livings (English clergy), livings under the patronage of Cardinal Wolsey; despite Wolsey's fall he rose high in the esteem of Henry VIII of England, Henry VIII and of Thomas Cromwell by pursuing the policy of suppressing the monasteries, and is believed to have been rewarded by officiating at Henry's secret marriage to Anne Boleyn in January 1533. Whether so or not, Bishop Leigh took a lead part in preparing for the divorce proceedings against Catherine of Aragon, before in January 1534 being elected as Bishop of Coventry and Lichfield (the last to hold that title), or Diocese of ... Rowland Leigh
Rowland Leigh (1902 – 1963) was an aristocratic Anglo-American lyricist, screenwriter, and librettist, who worked with many famous actors and musicians during his career on Broadway and in Hollywood. Family His mother, Hon Mrs Leigh, was the youngest daughter of General William Washington Gordon and he was in remainder to the peerage title of Baron Leigh, through his father the Hon Rowland Leigh (1859–1943). Leigh married 17 November 1937 Catherine de Bernard de La Fosse, daughter of Vicomte Pierre de Bernard de La Fosse, of Château de Beaumont, Loir-et-Cher, France, but they had no children and divorced in 1943. Rowland Lee (composer)
Rowland Edward Lee (born 19 August 1960) is a composer, pianist and conductor. In addition to his many published concert works, he is also one of the UK's premier TV, theatre and media composers and musical arrangers with over 600 episodes of various series and short films to his credit. Lee is perhaps best known for writing the theme song of the animated TV series '' Pablo the Little Red Fox'', ''64 Zoo Lane'' and for his orchestration of Sir Matthew Bourne's ''Swan Lake'' which is currently the most performed dance production in the world. Early life Lee was born in Woking, Surrey to parents Brian and Dilys Lee (née Lucas). He attended Sheerwater Secondary School then transferred to Woking Boys Grammar School and Woking VI Form College. From 1978-1982 Lee was organist and choirmaster of Christ Church, Woking. From 1979-1984 Lee attended The Royal College of Music studying music composition (under the tutelage of Joseph Horovitz and Philip Cannon), piano and conducting. ...
