Rowland Henry Rerick
Rowland Henry Rerick (1857 - October 23, 1925) was an American newspaper editor and owner. He was also a writer of books on history. During the early years of the 20th century, he wrote the book Memoirs of Florida, a book on political parties in Florida, and a history of Ohio. He was the son of newspaper publisher and Republican local official John Heaton Rerick (February 4, 1830 - January 21, 1911). Rowland joined his father's work and continued it after the elder's death. The ''LaGrange Standard & News'' is a newspaper located in LaGrange, Indiana, United States of America. The newspaper serves all of LaGrange County and covers local news, sports, business, and community events. It is published weekly on Mondays and delivered via the United States Postal Service. LaGrange is a town in and the county seat of LaGrange County, Indiana, United States. The population was 2,625 at the 2010 census. History LaGrange was laid out and platted in 1836. It took its name from LaGrange County. LaGrange County's initial settlers were Yankee immigrants, that is to say they were from New England and were descended from the English Puritans who settled that region in the colonial era. They were part of a wave of New England settlers moving west into what was then the Northwest Territory after the completion of the Erie Canal. The original settlers in LaGrange County specifically hailed from the Massachusetts counties of Worcester County, Suffolk County and Berkshire County; the Connecticut counties of Hartford County and Windham County as well as the Connecticut towns of Sherman, Lebanon and Fairfield; and from the Vermont towns of Burlington, Brookfield, Huntington and Grand Isle.
