Rowen Fernández (born 28 February 1978) is a South African former professional association football, footballer who played as a goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper. Club career Kaizer Chiefs Following a great season with ''The Students'', Fernández was signed by Kaizer Chiefs F.C., Kaizer Chiefs from Bidvest Wits F.C., Wits University in 2001 along with midfielder Stanton Fredericks. Fernández was to be an understudy to Brian Baloyi, who was on the verge of landing a lucrative contract in Europe. Fernández initially struggled to break into the first team, as Baloyi put up solid performances week in and week out. The big break finally came, when he made his debut in the Vodacom Challenge against Ghanaian side Accra Hearts of Oak, Hearts of Oak at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on 30 June 2001. Springs, Gauteng
Springs is a former independent city that is now part of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, City of Ekurhuleni, based in the east of Johannesburg (East Rand), in Gauteng Province, South Africa. It lies east of Johannesburg and southeast from Pretoria. Its name derives from the large number of spring (hydrosphere), springs in the area, and its estimated population is more than 121,610 in 2011. It is situated at above sea level. During the apartheid-era, the city was racially segregated under the Group Areas Act. Ellis Park Stadium (known as Emirates Airline Park for sponsorship reasons) is a rugby union and association football stadium in Johannesburg, Gauteng Province, South Africa. It hosted the final of the 1995 Rugby World Cup, which was won by the country's national team, the Springboks. The stadium was the country's most modern when it was upgraded in 1982 to accommodate almost 60,000 people. Moeneeb Josephs (''pronounced Muh'Neeb''; born 19 May 1980) is a retired South African professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Josephs began his career with Cape Town Spurs at the age of 17 in 1997 and played for its successor Ajax Cape Town for seven years. Itumeleng Isaac Khune (born 20 June 1987) is a South African professional football player who most recently played as goalkeeper for Kaizer Chiefs in the Premier Soccer League, and also the South African national team. He is often hailed as one of the best goalkeepers in South Africa, nicknamed " Mzansi's number one". Khune shot to fame when he saved three penalties from Esrom Nyandoro and Peter Ndlovu against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout final on 1 December 2007. Carlos Alberto Gomes Parreira (born 27 February 1943) is a Brazilian former football manager who holds the record for attending the most FIFA World Cup final tournaments as manager with six appearances.
