Rovers Cup
The Rovers Cup was an annual football tournament held in India, organized by the Western India Football Association. Incorporated in 1890, it was the third oldest tournament in India after Trades Cup. History Rovers Cup was incorporated by some British football enthusiasts in Bombay, Bombay Presidency, in 1890, as a form of amusement. After the foundation of Bombay Football Association (BFA) in 1902, the tournament became well organized. Patronised by Justice Russell, the tournament was firstly opened to British teams. Later in 1911, Western India Football Association was founded as a result of merger between BFA and Rovers Cup Committee. After justice Russel became president and P. R. Cadell became vice-president of WIFA, Indian clubs were given opportunity to participate, and Bengal United (a squad formed with Indian soldiers serving in British battalions) became first Indian team to compete. Rovers FC (Guam)
Rovers Football Club is an amateur association football club based in Guam. Rovers FC senior team participates in the Guam Soccer League. Rovers FC has men's, women's and youth teams competing in various national divisions. History Rovers Footbal Club (RFC) was founded in 2009 through the shared vision of four passionate amateur level footballers who committed to forming a competitive but social club. The masters (40+) team provided the foundation of the club with success in all championship finals from 2009–19. Numerous other fruitful tours resulted in travels to Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands and Hong Kong. Plans for the club's growth were cultivated during the many trips abroad and bringing those plans back to Guam. Valley Rovers
Valley Rovers GAA Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in the parish of Innishannon in County Cork, Ireland. The club was formed in 1919 when two teams in the parish, Innishannon and Knockavilla, came together. The club fields teams in hurling, camogie, Gaelic football and Ladies' football. It participates in the Carrigdhoun division of Cork GAA. As of 2020, the club were playing at Premier senior level in football and Premier intermediate level in hurling. The club won the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship title twice, first in 1989 and two decades later in the 2009 Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship. New York Rovers
The New York Rovers were a senior ice hockey team that was established in 1935. They played in the Eastern Hockey League as a farm team of the New York Rangers. The Rovers played alongside the Rangers in Madison Square Garden (1925), Madison Square Garden. They played in the Eastern League through 1947–48. When the EHL took a break for the 1948–49 season, the Rovers played in the Quebec Senior Hockey League until the EHL resumed for the 1949–50 season. The Rovers folded in 1952 because of a dispute over television rights. The team couldn't sell the rights and could not afford to go on without doing so. The team name was briefly resurrected in 1959, playing in the Long Island Arena. That Rovers franchise changed its name to the Long Island Ducks (ice hockey), Long Island Ducks in 1961. Ilen Rovers is a Gaelic football club in County Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated to Cork GAA and Carbery GAA divisional boards. The Richmond Rovers Rugby League Club is a rugby league club based in Grey Lynn, New Zealand. The premier team is called the Richmond Bulldogs/Richmond Rovers and compete in Auckland Rugby League's first grade Fox Memorial competition. They have won the first grade championship on 12 occasions. Early history The club was formed in 1913 by employees at Mr. B. W. Davis' Boot Factory and Elliott's, following a scratch game in 1912. They didn't in fact play an official game until 1914 when they affiliated with the Grafton Athletic club and entered a team in the 4th grade and played in the Grafton Athletic colours. In 1883 the land surrounding Grey Lynn Park was subdivided and the houses were built.
