Route 81 is a highway in northeastern Missouri. Its northern terminus is at the Iowa state line where it continues as Iowa Highway 81. Its southern terminus is at Route 16 west of Canton. Route description Route 81 starts at the Iowa state line from Iowa Route 81. It continues south into the town of Kahoka and then intersects with US Route 136. As it continues south, there are several sharp turns. It ends outside of the town Canton, near an interchange with US 61 and intersects with Route 16. Farmington is a city in Van Buren County, Iowa, United States. The population was 579 at the time of the 2020 census. History Farmington was laid out in 1839. It was named after Farmington, Connecticut. The town was incorporated on January 11, 1841. Farmington has suffered from several major floods of the Des Moines River, most notably in 1993, when a "500-year-flood" caused major damage to the buildings near the river, including a one-block area bordered by Walnut, Second, and Third Streets. The houses in this block were subsequently razed, and the property was purchased by the City of Farmington to create "Wild Rose City Park." Kahoka is a city in and the county seat of Clark County, in the northeast tip of Missouri, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 1,961. History Kahoka was platted in 1858. Route 16 (Missouri)
Route 16 is a highway in Lewis County, Missouri. The western terminus is at Route 6 east of Lewistown. The route travels eastward, through Monticello and over a few rivers. Route 16 then intersects U.S. Route 61 (US 61). The route ends at US 61 Business and Route B in Canton. The road was formerly part of Route 6, but it was rerouted in 1931. The old alignment was renumbered Route 96 that year. Ten years later, the route was renumbered to Route 16. Route description All of Route 16 is in Lewis County.
