Virginia State Route 393
In the US state of Virginia, some state highways have been specifically designated to serve state parks and state institutions. State Route 217 and the range of numbers from State Route 302 to State Route 399 are currently used (non-exclusively) for this purpose. For a list of very short Virginia primary state highways, see List of primary state highways in Virginia shorter than one mile. SR 217 State Route 217 is the designation for the roads on the grounds of the Southwestern Virginia Mental Health Institute (State Street, Morison Drive, Hospital Avenue) in Smyth County that are maintained by the Virginia Department of Transportation. The roads were added to the state highway system in 1932, and the number was in use by 1936.VA Highways Route Log SR 201–220

Virginia 393
Virginia, officially the Commonwealth of Virginia, is a state in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern regions of the United States, between the Atlantic Coast and the Appalachian Mountains. The geography and climate of the Commonwealth are shaped by the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Chesapeake Bay, which provide habitat for much of its flora and fauna. The capital of the Commonwealth is Richmond; Virginia Beach is the most-populous city, and Fairfax County is the most-populous political subdivision. The Commonwealth's population was over 8.65million, with 36% of them living in the Baltimore–Washington metropolitan area. The area's history begins with several indigenous groups, including the Powhatan. In 1607, the London Company established the Colony of Virginia as the first permanent English colony in the New World. Virginia's state nickname, the Old Dominion, is a reference to this status. Slave labor and land acquired from displaced native tribes fueled the gr ...

South Carolina Highway 393
South is one of the cardinal directions or compass points. The direction is the opposite of north and is perpendicular to both east and west. Etymology The word ''south'' comes from Old English ''sūþ'', from earlier Proto-Germanic ''*sunþaz'' ("south"), possibly related to the same Proto-Indo-European root that the word ''sun'' derived from. Some languages describe south in the same way, from the fact that it is the direction of the sun at noon (in the Northern Hemisphere), like Latin meridies 'noon, south' (from medius 'middle' + dies 'day', cf English meridional), while others describe south as the right-hand side of the rising sun, like Biblical Hebrew תֵּימָן teiman 'south' from יָמִין yamin 'right', Aramaic תַּימנַא taymna from יָמִין yamin 'right' and Syriac ܬܰܝܡܢܳܐ taymna from ܝܰܡܝܺܢܳܐ yamina (hence the name of Yemen, the land to the south/right of the Levant). Navigation By convention, the ''bottom or down-facing side'' of a ...

Ellipse Sign 393
In mathematics, an ellipse is a plane curve surrounding two focal points, such that for all points on the curve, the sum of the two distances to the focal points is a constant. It generalizes a circle, which is the special type of ellipse in which the two focal points are the same. The elongation of an ellipse is measured by its eccentricity e, a number ranging from e = 0 (the limiting case of a circle) to e = 1 (the limiting case of infinite elongation, no longer an ellipse but a parabola). An ellipse has a simple algebraic solution for its area, but only approximations for its perimeter (also known as circumference), for which integration is required to obtain an exact solution. Analytically, the equation of a standard ellipse centered at the origin with width 2a and height 2b is: : \frac+\frac = 1 . Assuming a \ge b, the foci are (\pm c, 0) for c = \sqrt. The standard parametric equation is: : (x,y) = (a\cos(t),b\sin(t)) \quad \text \quad 0\leq t\leq 2\pi. Ellipses ar ...

New York State Route 393
New York State Route 393 (NY 393) was an east–west state highway in Tompkins County, New York, in the United States. It was a spur route that connected the downtown district of the city of Ithaca to the Ithaca–Dryden town line. The western terminus of the route was at an intersection with NY 13 (modern NY 366) in East Ithaca. Its eastern terminus was at Game Farm Road, a local road that straddled the boundary between the towns of Ithaca and Dryden. NY 393 was assigned in the early 1930s as a signed designation for a highway that the state of New York had assumed maintenance of in the 1910s. It originally extended west along Mitchell Street to NY 79, but was truncated to Ithaca Road when NY 13 was rerouted through Ithaca in the mid-1930s. The NY 393 designation was removed in the mid-1960s, and its former routing is now maintained by the city of Ithaca and Tompkins County. The designation is currently reserved by the New York State ...
