Rotbav Bronze Age Site
Rotbav "La Pârâuț", spelled La Pîrîuț until 1993, is a Bronze Age site in southeastern Transylvania, Romania, located at the southern border of the modern village of Feldioara, Rotbav, in Feldioara commune, and north of Brașov, capital of the county by the same name. The settlement of Rotbav is situated upon a high terrace formation above the Olt (river), Olt River. Its importance lies in a long stratigraphy comprising the timespan from the Early Bronze Age to the Bronze Age–Iron Age transition. It is the most extensively researched site of this period in the region. History of research Chance finds from the Bronze Age were made in Rotbav already in the 19th century, but the "La Pârâuț" settlement was first investigated in the 1950s by a local teacher, Nicolae Croitoru. Noua-Sabatinovka-Coslogeni Complex
The Noua-Sabatinovka-Coslogeni complex was a late Bronze Age archaeological cultural complex located in Ukraine, Moldova and Romania, dating from the 16th to 11th centuries BC, consisting of the closely related Noua, Sabatinovka and Coslogeni cultures. Characteristics Representatives of the Noua-Sabatinovka-Coslogeni complex were engaged in agriculture and cattle breeding. Origin The Sabatinovka culture was formed on the basis of the Multi-Cordon Ware culture, there is also the influence of the Srubnaya culture and Monteoru. Noua culture and Coslogeni were formed as a result of the fusion of local cultures (Monteoru, Tei and Wietenbrg cultures) with the arriving carriers of the Sabatinovka culture. Wietenberg Culture
The Wietenberg culture was a Bronze Age Europe, Middle Bronze Age archeological culture in central Romania (Prehistory of Transylvania, Transylvania) that roughly dates to 2200–1600/1500 BCE. Representing a local variant of Usatove culture, it was contemporary with the Ottomány culture and Unetice culture and was replaced by the Noua-Sabatinovka-Coslogeni complex, Noua culture. Its name was coined after the eponymic Wietenberg Hill near Sighișoara. People of this culture traded with the Mycenaeans. Burial sites contain bronze battle axes and maces with stone heads. Pottery consists of amphorae with spiral and meandric ornament. By 1964, about 200 settlements of this culture were discovered.
