Rossend Perelló i Casellas (Gironella, 1912 — Barcelona, 13 April 1976) was a Catalan writer. He took part in several literature contests. He had three children with his wife Maria Assumpta Losa Ortiz de Arril: Maria Rosa, Esperança and Carles. Gironella
Gironella () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Berguedà in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the left bank of the Llobregat river to the south of Berga. The local economy is traditionally based on cotton spinning and textile manufacture, although tourism is now more important: the company towns or "colonies" of workers houses surround the cotton mills are of historical interest. The town is served by the C-16 road to Berga and the Cadí tunnel. Gironella, which has numerous stores, bars, and schools, is an important economic center for the smaller towns around it, such as Olvan, Sagàs or Casserres. Floral Games were any of a series of historically related poetry contests with floral prizes. In Occitan, their original language, and Catalan they are known as (, ; modern or ). In French, they became the (), and in Basque (). The original contests may have been inspired by the Roman Floralia () held in honour of Flora. Toulouse The original floral games of the troubadours were held by the in Toulouse, annually from 1324, traditionally on 1 May. It is considered the oldest literary society in Europe. One contestant would receive the ''violeta d'aur'', golden violet, for the poem judged the best. The second prize was a silver wild rose (''eglantina''), and the other prizes, awarded for particular poetic forms, were similarly floral. The first prize was awarded on 3 May 1324 to Arnaut Vidal de Castelnou d'Ari for a '' sirventes'' in praise of the Virgin Mary. Montblanc () is the capital of the Catalan comarca Conca de Barberà, in the Spanish province of Tarragona. The Prades Mountains are located in the vicinity of this town.
