Roslyn Mould is the first African woman to be elected as a board member of Humanists International. Previously, she was the President of the Humanist Association of Ghana. In 2023, she became the Vice President of the Humanists International. Activism She began her work in activism when she joined the Humanist Association of Ghana in 2012. Between 2015 and 2019, she became Organizing Secretary, and later, President and Council Member of Humanist Association of Ghana. In 2019, she was appointed as the Coordinator of the West African Humanists Network. Humanists International
Humanists International (known as the International Humanist and Ethical Union, or IHEU, from 1952–2019) is an international non-governmental organisation championing secularism and human rights, motivated by secular humanist values. The Humanist Association of Ghana (HAG) is a humanist organization of atheists and agnostics living in Ghana who espouse humanism as a way of life, fight for the protection of human rights and promote critical thinking. History In 2007, Leo Igwe spoke at a seminar on humanism at the University of Cape Coast to explore the possibilities of collaboration between the Formerly International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU) and activists and universities in Ghana. Five years later, in 2012, a network of freethinkers was formed through social media. Ghanaian Anti-LGBT Bill
The Ghanaian anti-LGBT+ bill (formally the ''Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill'') is a proposed law in Ghana that would introduce wide-ranging restrictions on LGBTQ rights. The bill was approved by the Parliament of Ghana on 28 February 2024 with bipartisan support and would only have come into effect if signed into law by the President–Nana Akufo-Addo at the time of the bill's passage, since succeeded as President by John Dramani Mahama. The bill lapsed with the dissolution of Ghana's parliament prior to the 2024 Ghanaian general election.
