Roskildevej
Roskildevej is a road between Copenhagen and Roskilde in the Danish capital area. The direct continuation of Vesterbrogade, which begins at Copenhagen's City Hall Square, the road begins at Pile Allé and continues through Frederiksberg, Valby, Rødovre, Glostrup, Albertslund, Taastrup and Hedehusene to Roskilde. The section between Hedehusene and Roskilde is now known as Københavnsvej and in Hedehusene and Glostrup it is simply known as Hovedgaden ("Main Street"). The section from Aalholm Plads in Copenhagen to The Eastern Ring Road in Roskilde (part of Primary Route 6) is known as Secondary Route 156 and is 24 km long. Hedehusene
Hedehusene is a suburban town located on the rail line between Copenhagen and Roskilde in the Capital Region of Denmark. It has absorbed the villages of ''Baldersbrønde'' and Fløng and almost merged with Roskilde's eastern Trekroner neighbourhood to the west and Høje Taastrup to the east. To the south is the large recreational area Hedeland. As of 1 January 2022, the town had a population of 13,663. A large development project, NærHeden, created as a collaboration between Høje-Taastrup Municipality and Realdania, will expand the town to the southeast with a new sustainable neighbourhood. Vesterbrogade
Vesterbrogade () is the main shopping street of the Vesterbro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. The 1.5 km long street runs from the City Hall Square in the east to Pile Allé in Frederiksberg in the west where it turns into Roskildevej. On its way, it passes Copenhagen Central Station as well as the small triangular square Vesterbros Torv. It is one of four such ''-bro streets'', the other being Nørrebrogade, Østerbrogade and Amagerbrogade. History Early history Vesterbroghade originates in the 12th-century country road that led in and out of Copenhagen's Western City Gate. The road passed Sankt Jørgens Bæk (St. George's Stream) on its way to Valby and often changed course. Valby
Valby () is one of the 10 official districts of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is in the southwestern corner of Copenhagen Municipality, and has a mixture of different types of housing. This includes apartment blocks, terraced housing, areas with single-family houses and allotments, plus the remaining part of the old Valby village, around which the district has formed, intermingled with past and present industrial sites. Valby Hill marks the boundary between Valby and the more central and urban neighbouring Vesterbro district. Glostrup
Glostrup is a Danish town in Region Hovedstaden, forming one of the western suburbs of Copenhagen. It is the administrative seat of Glostrup Municipality, with an estimated population of 22,357 . During the 20th century Glostrup developed from a small railroad town into a modern middle class suburb. The population reached a peak during the 1970s flight from central Copenhagen, but has since stabilized. While most of Copenhagens western suburbs are dominated by public housing projects, Glostrups mix is around the Danish average. A series of large companies, e.g. Grontmij's and Motorola's Danish sections, along with NKT Holding and Pandora are situated in the area. Taastrup Water Tower
Taastrup Water Tower is a defunct water tower in Taastrup, a western suburb of Copenhagen, Denmark. The distinctive structure now serves as an observation tower and local landmark, readily visible when approaching Copenhagen from the west along Roskildevej. History The water tower was built in 1908 to a design by the architect Andreas Fussing as part of the local Taastrup waterworks. In 1977 it was considered to demolish the structure but instead it was decided to renovate it. The rest of the buildings at the site was demolished in 1997 but the water tower was once again spared. A society for the preservation of the water tower was founded in 2003. They raised funds for another renovation of the building and in 2009 it opened its doors to the public as an Observation tower. The ''Olsen Gang'' ( da, Olsen-banden, no, Olsenbanden, german: Die Olsenbande) is a Danish comedy film series created by Danish director Erik Balling and special effects expert Henning Bahs about the eponymous fictional criminal gang. The gang's leader is the criminal genius and habitual offender Egon Olsen and his accomplices are Benny and Kjeld (Kjell in Norwegian). The gang members are harmless, extremely rarely target ordinary citizens, and never deliberately use violence. The Olsen Gang In Jutland
''The Olsen Gang in Jutland'' ( da, Olsen-banden i Jylland) is a 1971 Danish comedy film directed by Erik Balling and starring Ove Sprogøe. The film was the third installment in the Olsen Gang-series. Plot The film starts like most of the Olsen-gang films, with Egon being released from The State Prison in Vridsløselille. The gang goes back home to Kjeld and Yvonne to discuss their next caper. Unlike most other Olsen Gang films, this heist takes place in Jutland. Egon has obtained a map for a treasure stored in an old German command bunker on the west coast. To get to Jutland they must cross the then newly built Little Belt Bridge. But two other criminals (Helle Virkner and Willy Rathnov) have also got wind of the story. The Olsen Gang do not make it easier for themselves by taking Yvonne along.
