Rosenborg () is a neighbourhood in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Østbyen in Trondheim Municipality. It is located east of Møllenberg, south of Lademoen, north of Tyholt, and west of Persaunet. The eastern part of Rosenborg also borders to Kristiansten Fortress and the surrounding park. The area is mostly residential, both houses and apartments. There is also a large amateur football (soccer), football arena that among others hosts the women's team Trondheims-Ørn S.K., Trondheims-Ørn. The area also has given name to the Norwegian Premier League team Rosenborg BK, Rosenborg Ballklub, that now is located at Lerkendal, Trondheim, Lerkendal. The Rosenvinge family () is a Danish nobility, Danish and Norwegian nobility, Norwegian noble family. Origin Rosenvinge in Denmark The family's progenitor, Mogens Jensen (d. 1528), who was the secretary of Christian II of Denmark, Prince Christian (1481–1559), later vogt, overlord in Bergenhus and Mayor of Helsingør, was ennobled on 31 May 1505. Lerkendal, Trondheim
Lerkendal () is a borough in Trondheim Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The borough was established on 1 January 2005 in a municipal borough reform that reduced the number of boroughs in the city of Trondheim. The borough of Østbyen lies to the east, Midtbyen lies to the northwest, and Heimdal lies to the southwest. The boroughs oversee health, welfare, and education for their residents while the rest of the local government is done by Trondheim Municipality. The borough is located south of Gløshaugen and Elgeseter, west of Berg, north of Tempe and mostly east of the river Nidelva. The area is dominated by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, SINTEF, and Lerkendal Stadion (the home stadium of Rosenborg). Rosenborg Ballklub, commonly referred to simply as Rosenborg () or RBK, is a Norwegian professional association football, football club from Trondheim that plays in Eliteserien (football), Eliteserien. The club has won a record 26 league titles, a shared record 12 Norwegian Football Cup titles and have played more UEFA matches than any other Norwegian team. RBK play their home games at the all-seater Lerkendal Stadion which has a capacity of 21,421. Eliteserien () is a professional association football league in Norway and the highest level of the Norwegian football league system. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Norwegian First Division. Rosenborg Ballklub Kvinner (previously known as Sportsklubben Trondheims-Ørn) is a Norwegian women's professional football club in Trondheim, Trøndelag. History The club was founded as a multi-sports club on May 18, 1917, and became a member of the Workers' Sports Federation in the 1920s. It was first based in Lademoen and had a clubhouse at Buran between 1946 and the 1960s. It had sections for men's football, Nordic skiing, speed skating, track and field, and swimming. Team handball followed in 1952, and ice hockey in 1961. The women's football section was established in 1972, twelve years before a national league was organized. Kristiansten Fortress
Kristiansten Fortress (, historically spelled ''Christiansten'') is located on a hill east of the city of Trondheim which is located within Trondheim Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway, named after Christian V of Denmark-Norway. It was built after the city fire of Trondheim in 1681 to protect the city against attack from the east. Construction was finished in 1685. It fulfilled its purpose in 1718 when Swedish forces laid siege against Trondheim. The fortress was decommissioned in 1816 by King Charles XIV John. Construction Trondheim was traditionally protected with fortifications by the river Nidelven and Skansen, but the city was vulnerable to attack from the east. The Fortress was therefore put on a hill to protect the city centre and control the area from Ila to Lade. Tyholt
Tyholt is a neighbourhood in Trondheim Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Lerkendal at the highest point in the city of Trondheim. Before 1964, Tyholt was part of the old Strinda Municipality. It borders the neighborhoods Singsaker to the west, Strindheim to the north, Moholt to the south and Valentinlyst to the east. Most of Tyholt is residential. The area has a good view of Trondheim's city centre and the neighborhoods of Lade and Strinda. Lademoen
Lademoen is a neighborhood in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is situated the borough of Østbyen in Trondheim Municipality, about east of Midtbyen, the city centre of Trondheim. Lademoen was transferred from Strinda Municipality to Trondheim Municipality in 1893. The neighborhood is the site of Lademoen Church (''Lademoen kirke'').
