Mike Roselle
Mike Roselle (born 1954) is an American Environmental movement, environmental activist and author who is a prominent member of the radical environmentalism movement. Roselle is one of the co-founders of the radical environmental organization Earth First!, as well as of Rainforest Action Network, the Ruckus Society, and Climate Ground Zero. Early life Roselle grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, Louisville, Kentucky and moved to Los Angeles, California as a child in 1968. During his youth and after his relocation to California, Roselle became more interested in politics. Career Earth First! was founded in 1980 by Mike Roselle, David Foreman, Dave Foreman, Howie Wolke, Bart Koehler, and Ron Kezar. Rainforest Action Network was founded in San Francisco in 1985 by Roselle and Randy Hayes. USS Roselle (AM-379)
USS ''Roselle'' (AM-379) was an acquired by the United States Navy for the dangerous task of removing mines from minefields laid in the water to prevent ships from passing. She was the second United States Navy warship to be so named. ''Roselle'' was laid down 24 February 1944, by the Gulf Shipbuilding Corp., Chickasaw, Alabama; launched 29 August 1944; sponsored by Mrs. Louis E. Griffith; and commissioned 6 February 1945. Pacific Ocean operations Following shakedown at Little Creek, Virginia, she replaced as training vessel there on 24 April 1945. Rusellae
Rusellae was an important ancient town of Etruria (roughly modern Tuscany), which survived until the Middle Ages before being abandoned. The impressive archaeological remains lie near the modern ''frazione'' or village of Roselle () in the ''comune'' of Grosseto. The remains of the ancient buildings were brought to light by means of a long campaign of excavations carried out under archaeologist Clelia Laviosa beginning in the 1950s., s.v. "Rusellae" More recent work has revealed many more impressive buildings. Geography Roselle was located at the point of transition between the valley of Ombrone and the Maremma of Grosseto, on the shore of the ancient lake Prile (the ancient ''Lacus Prelius''). The first USS ''Roselle'' (SP-350) was a minesweeper that served in the United States Navy during 1917. ''Roselle'' was built as a commercial steam harbor tug of the same name in 1903 by Neafie and Levy at Philadelphia. On 10 May 1917, the U.S. Navy acquired her from her owners, the Central Railroad Company of New Jersey, for use as a minesweeper during World War I. Salty And Roselle
Salty and Roselle were two guide dogs who were with their owners in the World Trade Center during the September 11 attacks in New York City. They each guided their owners out of the burning towers before the buildings collapsed, feats which were later recognized when they were awarded the Dickin Medal by the British charity the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals. Roselle went on to be posthumously named American Hero Dog of the Year 2011 by American Humane, and has a book written about her. Salty Salty (December 12, 1996 – March 28, 2008) was trained as a guide dog in early 1998 by Guiding Eyes for the Blind in Yorktown Heights, New York.
