Rosehaugh
Rosehaugh plc was a major property developer in the City of London and the Docklands in the 1980s and 1990s. Accountant Godfrey BradmanMacLaran, Andrew ed., 2014. Page 54. acquired Rosehaugh, a former tea company, as a quoted shell company in 1978 and sought to turn it into a development company. The company became known because of its involvement in major redevelopment projects, such as the redevelopment of much of the Docklands and Surrey Quays (e.g. New Caledonian Wharf), Lewisham as well as a number of high-profile developments in the City, such as Broadgate through its joint venture with Stanhope; Rosehaugh Stanhope Developments. New Caledonian Wharf
New Caledonian Wharf is a luxury gated community in the Rotherhithe area of London on the River Thames. The site was originally part of the Surrey Docks and known as Redriff Wharf, and served as a commercial wharf until the 1970s. History The wharf was originally known as Redriff Wharf and continued to be a commercial wharf until the late 1970s. It was located adjacent to Greenland Dock and part of the Surrey Docks, though it was directly accessible from the river. After falling into disrepair, Rosehaugh acquired the site in 1989 and redeveloped it into 104 flats together with architects Shepheard Epstein Hunter. The building has a large central courtyard, which includes a fountain. The community has use of a private gym and swimming pool, available only to the residents and their guests. Broadgate
Broadgate is a large, office and retail estate in the Bishopsgate area of the City of London. It is owned by British Land and GIC (Singaporean sovereign wealth fund), GIC and managed by British Land. History The original developer was a joint venture of Rosehaugh and Stanhope plc: it was built by a Bovis Construction, Bovis / Tarmac Group, Tarmac Construction joint venture and was the largest office development in London until the arrival of Canary Wharf in the early 1990s. London Docklands
London Docklands is an area of London encompassing the city’s former docks. Surrey Quays
Surrey Quays is a largely residential area of Rotherhithe in south-east London, occupied until 1970 by the Surrey Commercial Docks. The precise boundaries of the area are somewhat amorphous, but it is generally considered to comprise the southern half of the Rotherhithe peninsula from Canada Water to South Dock; electorally, Surrey Docks is the eastern half of the peninsula. The area is served by Surrey Quays railway station on the Windrush line of the London Overground. ''Surrey'' Docks are so called because the borders of Surrey and Kent met in this area until 1889. Lewisham
Lewisham ( ) is an area of southeast London, England, south of Charing Cross. It is the principal area of the London Borough of Lewisham, and was within the Historic counties of England, historic county of Kent until 1889. It is identified in the London Plan as one of 35 major centres in Greater London, with a large shopping centre and street market. Lewisham had a population of 60,573 in 2011. Stanhope plc is a large property development company based in London, England. Its developments have included Broadgate and Television Centre, London, Television Centre at White City, London, White City. History Stanhope was founded by Stuart Lipton and Peter Rogers in 1983.
