Rose Su Rose
"Rose su rose" ( en, "Roses on roses") is a song by Italian singer Mina. It was written by Massimiliano Pani, Mina's son, Piero Cassano, and arranged by Celso Valli. The song was released as a single in February 1984 and reached number 16 on the Italian chart, staying there for seven weeks. In the same year, it was included in the studio album '' Catene''. "Ninna nanna", used as the b-side, remained unreleased until the publication of '' Mina Studio Collection'' in 1998. "Rose su rose" was also chosen as the theme song for 34th Italian Song Festival. Gianni Ravera, the artistic director, told about this at a press conference dedicated to the organization of the festival in early 1984. This choice was sharply criticized by the press of that time, since Mina had been absent from the stage for six years, and more than twenty years ago she swore that she no longer wanted to have anything to do with Sanremo. Mina Anna Maria Mazzini (born 25 March 1940) or Mina Anna Quaini (for the Swiss civil registry), known mononymously as Mina, is an Italian-Swiss singer and actress. She was a staple of television variety shows and a dominant figure in Italian pop music from the 1960s to the mid-1970s, known for her three-octave vocal range, the agility of her soprano voice, and her image as an emancipated woman. In performance, Mina combined several modern styles with traditional Italian melodies and swing music, which made her the most versatile pop singer in Italian music. The Sanremo Music Festival 1984 was the 34th annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia, between 2 and 4 February 1984 and broadcast by Rai 1. The show was presented by Pippo Baudo, who also served as the artistic director, assisted by Iris Peynado, Elisabetta Gardini, Tiziana Pini and Edy Angelillo. The winners of the Big Artists section were Al Bano and Romina Power with the song "Ci sarà", while Patty Pravo won the Critics Award with "Per una bambola". Eros Ramazzotti won the Newcomers section with the song "Terra promessa". "Favola triste", sung by Silvia Conti, was disqualified because it turned out to be not unpublished. Nuccio Rinaldis (Milan 1943 - Milan 2015) was an Italian sound engineer. Biography Nuccio Rinaldis is best known in Italian pop music business for being lead sound engineer of Italian singer Mina for several years. Rinaldis's work can be traced in almost the singer's complete discography, both albums and singles from 1967 onwards, with the many hits he was involved in, first at Carlo Alberto Rossi's Fonorama Studio and later, for more than 10 years since the founding of PDU, at the La Basilica Studio in Milan, owned by Mina herself.
