Theodore Roosevelt
Theodore Roosevelt Jr. (October 27, 1858 – January 6, 1919), also known as Teddy or T.R., was the 26th president of the United States, serving from 1901 to 1909. Roosevelt previously was involved in New York (state), New York politics, including serving as the state's List of governors of New York, 33rd governor for two years. The Roosevelt family is an American political family from New York whose members have included two United States presidents, a First Lady, and various merchants, bankers, politicians, inventors, clergymen, artists, and socialites. Roosevelt is a census-designated place (CDP) in Gila County, Arizona, United States. The population was 28 at the 2010 census. Geography The CDP is located on the western edge of Gila County, on the south side of Theodore Roosevelt Lake, a reservoir on the Salt River. The western boundary of the CDP is the Maricopa County line. Arizona State Route 188 runs through Roosevelt, leading southeast to Globe, the Gila County seat, and northwest to Payson. Arizona State Route 88, the Apache Trail, has its northern terminus just west of Roosevelt at the Theodore Roosevelt Dam.
