Roomies (TV Series)
''Roomies'' is an American sitcom television series created by Sy Rosen, that aired on NBC from March 19 until May 15, 1987. Reruns of the series later aired on Saturday mornings in 1991. Plot The series centered on Nick Chase, a 42-year old former drill instructor who has retired from the U.S. Marine Corps and is now taking advantage of the GI Bill to attend Saginaw University. He gets assigned to room with Matthew Wiggins, 14-year old "boy genius", who has also enrolled at Saginaw to study marine biology. Nick does not like this arrangement at first, but when he sees Matthew is serious about his studies, he appreciates avoiding the stereotypical raunchiness and zaniness associated with college students and sees the same discipline in Matthew that he saw in his recruits, and the two form a partnership, trying to help each other out. Jane Daly is an American actress. She is best known for Bob Clark's low-budget zombie movie '' Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things'' and as the original Kelly Harper on the CBS soap opera ''Capitol''. Early life Daly was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Edward A. Daly, a World War II Air Force Veteran. She was raised in Valley Stream, New York and Miami, Florida, where she attended the University of Miami and graduated magna cum laude in theatre. Sy Rosen is an American producer and screenwriter. He served as one of the creators of the American sitcom television series ''Gimme a Break!'', which he created with Mort Lachman. Career Rosen started his career in 1976, first writing a few episodes for the television series ''The Bob Newhart Show''. He also served in the army and graduated from college, in 1969. In 1980s-2000s, Rosen produced and wrote many shows, including, ''Taxi'', ''The Wonder Years'', '' Maude'', ''M*A*S*H'', ''The Jeffersons'', ''Rhoda'', '' Sister, Sister'', '' Throb'', ''My Two Dads'' and '' Sanford''.
