Ronnie Green (kickboxer)
Ronnie "Machine Gun" Green (born April 1, 1959) is a retired British professional kickboxer who is a former four-time world champion. Biography Green became a world champion in kickboxing and was the first British person to do so. Green also won titles in four different weight divisions. Green was raised in Manchester and first began training in martial arts in 1974, taking up judo and karate. Green began his training with Thohsaphon "Master Toddy" Sitiwatjana at his Deansgate gym in Manchester, England, in 1977. After wins in the Netherlands and France, Green became the first Brit to win a kickboxing match in Thailand by defeating Lamnak Pitiporn at Rajadamnern Stadium in March 1983. Green won the European Muay Thai title in by defeating Yasunori Suda in July 1983 and the World WKA Super Featherweight title in 1984 by defeating Joao Vieira in Amsterdam. Lucien Carbin
Lucien Carbin (born 7 September 1952) is a Surinamese- Dutch former kickboxer, karateka and trainer. He was the first European Kyokushin karate champion, a world kickboxing champion and a European Savate and Muay Thai champion. As a trainer, he raised 49 world champions in different versions of martial arts. Biography Carbin was born in Para District, Suriname. In 1965, he moved to Amsterdam in the Netherlands. At the age of 18, Carbin joined the military where he took on unarmed combat training. He advanced quickly and after his military duty, two years later in 1972, he enrolled in the martial arts school of Jon Bluming for a Kyokushin karate class. After one year, Carbin mastered the brown belt. He also practiced pencak silat. In 1976, Carbin was introduced to kickboxing by Jan Plas, a fellow student of Bluming and one of the teachers at the Bluming dojo. Gilbert Ballantine (born 14 March 1961) is a retired Surinamese- Dutch kickboxer and a nine times kickboxing world champion. After his kickboxing career Ballantine also took part in Mixed martial arts competition, winning three Rings Dutch championships. Rajadamnern Stadium ( th, สนามมวยราชดำเนิน; ), also spelled ''Ratchadamnoen'', is a sporting arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Along with Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Rajadamnern is one of the two main stadiums for modern muay Thai. It hosts fights every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.
