Ronald Hynd
Ronald Hynd (born 22 April 1931) is an English choreographer, and in his youth was a ballet dancer. In the Royal Ballet in the late 1940s he began to dance with Annette Page, whom he later married. Page died on 4 December 2017. Royal Ballet
The Royal Ballet is a British internationally renowned classical ballet company, based at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London, England. The largest of the five major ballet companies in Great Britain, the Royal Ballet was founded in 1931 by Dame Ninette de Valois. It became the resident ballet company of the Royal Opera House in 1946, and has purpose-built facilities within these premises. Annette Page
Annette Page (December 1932 – 4 December 2017) was an English ballerina. She was a principal dancer with the Royal Ballet, and was usually partnered onstage by her husband, Ronald Hynd. Life Brought up in Manchester, Page began to take ballet classes when she was about four. This led to her taking Royal Academy of Dance exams, and seeing the Royal Ballet in Manchester persuaded her to pursue a dance career. When she was twelve she auditioned for Ninette de Valois, who offered her a scholarship to attend the Royal Ballet School, at which she began during the final year of the Second World War. The Merry Widow (ballet)
''The Merry Widow'' ballet is a 1975 adaptation of Franz Lehár's 1905 romantic operetta ''The Merry Widow'' (''Die lustige Witwe''). John Lanchbery and Alan Abbott adapted the score of the operetta for ballet and retained the style of Lehár's orchestration. The arrangement includes the well-known tunes of the operetta: Vilja's song ''Ich bin eine anständige Frau'' and the ''Weibermarsch''. This musical arrangement has been used for two ballets: the first was choreographed by Ronald Hynd for The Australian Ballet in 1975, while the second was choreographed by Veronica Paeper for CAPAB (since renamed the Cape Town City Ballet Company) in 1988. Charlotte Brontë
Charlotte Brontë (, commonly ; 21 April 1816 – 31 March 1855) was an English novelist and poet, the eldest of the three Brontë sisters who survived into adulthood and whose novels became classics of English literature. She enlisted in school at Roe Head in January 1831, aged 14 years. She left the year after to teach her sisters, Emily and Anne, at home, returning in 1835 as a governess. In 1839, she undertook the role of governess for the Sidgwick family, but left after a few months to return to Haworth, where the sisters opened a school but failed to attract pupils. Ballet West
Ballet West is an American ballet company based in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was founded in 1963 as the Utah Civic Ballet by Willam F. Christensen, the company's first artistic director, and Glenn Walker Wallace, who served as its first president. Christensen had previously established the first ballet department in an American university at the University of Utah in 1951. In 1968, the Federation of Rocky Mountain States chose the company to represent that group, and by extension, to represent the western United States.
