Ronald G. Evans
Ronald Grant Evans (December 26, 1915 – February 12, 1992) was an American politician and businessman. Evans was born in Judson Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota, Judson Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota, Blue Earth County, Minnesota and went to the local high school. He also went to business college and was involved with the real estate business. Evans served in the United States Army during World War II. He lived in Mankato, Minnesota with his wife and family. Evans served on the Blue Earth County Commission from 1965 to 1974 and was a Republican Party (United States), Republican. He served in the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1975 and 1976. He died at the Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato, Minnesota. Blue Earth County is a county in the State of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 69,112. Its county seat is Mankato. The county is named for the Blue Earth River and for the deposits of blue-green clay once evident along the banks of the Blue Earth River. Blue Earth County is part of the Mankato-North Mankato metropolitan area. History The area of Blue Earth County was once occupied by the Dakota Indians. French explorer Pierre-Charles Le Sueur was an early explorer in this area, arriving where the Minnesota and Blue Earth rivers meet. He made an unsuccessful attempt to mine copper from the blue earth. The area remained under French control until 1803 when it passed to the United States in the Louisiana Purchase. Mankato ( ) is a city in Blue Earth, Nicollet, and Le Sueur counties in the state of Minnesota. The population was 44,488 according to the 2020 census, making it the 21st-largest city in Minnesota, and the 5th-largest outside of the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area. It is along a large bend of the Minnesota River at its confluence with the Blue Earth River. Mankato is across the Minnesota River from North Mankato.
